| | 2025 Street Cleaning Calendar | |
Next week, street sweeping will occur in sections 10, 11, and 12 (South Lakeview and Lincoln Park). Click on the map above to see your section's schedule.
Please be on the lookout for signs and make sure to move your vehicle on your scheduled day (south and east sides of the street are normally done on the first day, north and west on the second; please watch for signs). Sweepers will do more than one pass on the block in their initial cleaning but will not come back to clean sections outside of their officially scheduled day.
Please take the time to help clear the curb in front of your property to keep the sewers flowing well. Any landscaping debris should be bagged and put in the alley by your trash cans. Please do not sweep landscaping debris into the street. Piles of leaves and heavy garbage also clog the sweepers and will cause significant delays. Other large objects like branches and metal will also damage the sweepers, so please remove them from curbs.
Residents can view street sweepers in real time using the Sweeper Tracker online tool.

Chicago Public Schools Board Appoints Macquline King as Interim CPS CEO
The Chicago Board of Education on Wednesday approved Macquline King as interim CEO for CPS, replacing Pedro Martinez. The board approved the motion to accept King as the new CEO on an 11-8, with Ebony DeBerry abstaining for an interesting reason.
Per CPS, the Board will continue actively searching for a qualified candidate to serve as the permanent leader and aims to fill the position as soon as possible. Visit the Board’s Superintendent/CEO search landing page for updates on the search process at CPSBOE.org/supt-ceo-search.
“The Board will work together to support the continued success of the District under Dr. King’s leadership,“ said Board Member and Transition Team Chair Jessica Biggs. “We look forward to Dr. King continuing the momentum of tremendous student academic growth and achievement, from our youngest Pre-K scholars to our amazing Class of 2025, and we look forward to partnering toward the common goal of ensuring every student, in every neighborhood, has access to a high-quality educational experience.”
Dr. King is scheduled to commence her duties on June 20, 2025.

SSA 27 Needs Your Help
West Lakeview Special Service Area (SSA) 27’s 15 year term ends 12/31/2025, and must go through a renewal process throughout 2025 in order for West Lakeview to keep crucial SSA services such as Litter Pickup, Landscaping, Holiday Decor, Outdoor Furniture Maintenance, Community Events (such as Lincoln Brunch Fest and the Lakeview Tree Lighting Ceremony), Public Art, and more. These crucial public services and amenity are crucial to the flow of foot traffic that provides new and returning customers to the businesses of West Lakeview.
To keep West Lakeview safe, beautiful, and fun, SSA 27 will require 20% of signatures representing all Property Index Numbers (PINs) within the SSA 27 boundaries, and you can help. If you own your property and would like to keep SSA services, please reach out. If you do not own your business property, helping us connect with your landlord would be much appreciated.
Please reach out to SSA 27 Program Manager Robert Morvay at robert@lrvcc.org to learn how to sign for your PIN or to help connect us with your landlord.
