College of Nursing Presentation Voted #1
While working with students to reduce anxiety, faculty members Angela Moses, DNP, RN, CHSE, and Amy Beussink, MSN, RN, conducted a study to assess the effectiveness of certain strategies. The project, “Utilizing Self-Evaluated Video Recordings for Fundamental Skills Check Offs and Its Impact on Students’ Anxiety,” sought to determine if allowing nursing students to video record their skill performance for submission rather than be graded while performing skills in the physical presence of an instructor resulted in less anxiety for the student.
The abstract was accepted for the 22nd Annual Nurse Educator Convention held earlier this spring in Branson, MO. Of the 11 abstracts presented at the conference, the college’s presentation was voted number one. The conference included nurse educators from Missouri and several other states. Congrats on earning our college multi-state recognition!
