2022-2023

Windstorm Damage at PIH Property

In 2022, wind gusts of up to 100 mph were recorded. Unfortunately, the powerful gusts uprooted an 80-foot tree at one of Partners in Housing's properties. The tree is believed to have been original to the home which was built in 1953. To ensure the safety of everyone in the home, Partners in Housing staff worked quickly to relocate the family of six to a hotel, where the family's insurance covered the initial stay while the hazard was removed.

After the hotel, PIH provided the family with a new temporary unit while repairs took place.

Exterior and Security Improvements
at Colorado House Resource Center

In 2022-2023, several exterior and security improvements at the Colorado House Resource Center were made possible by grant funding from the Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership and the Nonprofit Security Grant Program.

The Downtown Partnership grant approved a mural, an awning and landscaping for the Colorado House.

In 2022, Partners in Housing was approved $149,937 for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to improve safety at the Colorado House. Updates included improved security systems such as cameras with access control, a new alarm system, and gates for the garage.
