Sharon Saline, Psy.D.

Dr. Saline is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice, and a top expert in how ADHD, learning disabilities and mental health issues affect children, teens and families. Dr. Saline has worked extensively with schools on mental health issues in the classroom, interpreting psychological evaluations and improving teacher/parent communication. Her unique perspective, namely growing up in a household with a sibling who wrestled with untreated ADHD, combined with decades of clinical expertise, assists her in guiding families from the maze of emotions, conflict and stress toward successful dialog, interventions and connection. Dr. Saline funnels this expertise into her current book, What Your ADHD Child Wishes You Knew: Working Together to Empower Kids for Success in School and Life. Northeastern University and her pre-doctoral clinical training was completed at Newton South High School and UMass Memorial Hospital’s Outpatient Psychiatry Department. She also holds a Master’s degree in Learning Disorders from Northwestern University in Evanston, Il. She has worked for over two decades with students, schools and families in the Boston area and is trained in a number of evidence-based programs including Wilson, Project Read and Orton Gillingham for reading, Empower for writing, and MATCH-ADTC, a manualized, evidence-based CBT protocol for treating anxiety, depression and disruptive behavior in children and adolescents. Her research interests include self-regulated learning, metacognition, learning disorders, and implementation science. She approaches her research and practice from a humanistic, multicultural, and developmental orientation.
