The Charlie David Dinner, being held this year from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20, is a Columbus Academy tradition. This annual event is named in honor of a dedicated parent who, 37 years ago, organized a pregame chicken dinner for Academy students, parents and staff to raise funds for the athletic program.
In recent years, proceeds from the dinner have purchased new scoreboards, new uniforms for every team and various equipment, including some playground equipment for the school. The dinner also supports upper school student clubs and organizations because they provide great activities, games and challenges for the youngest Vikings at the always popular Charlie David Dinner Boardwalk in the Jones Gym.
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this casual, family-friendly PACA event in the dining hall. You'll enjoy a City Barbeque meal (veggie burgers available), exciting silent auction items, fun kid-friendly activities in the school gym, a photo booth, and the "Football Friday" atmosphere prior to and during the home game against Whitehall that kicks off at 7:30 on our Hondros Field.
