A Message from the Board of Directors
These are challenging times for the law enforcement profession. The last few years have been marked by intense scrutiny of how they do their jobs and a sometimes contentious national conversation about policing that has resulted in some officers feeling defensive, underappreciated and discouraged. In such an environment, the need for motivated, caring, competent law enforcement officers is absolutely critical. This is where the role of the Baltimore County Police Foundation comes into play.

For the past 39 years, it has been our mission to provide Guidance, Resources and Recognition to the members of the Baltimore County Police Department. We do this through two key components - hosting an annual awards dinner and providing financial resources for training and equipment which cannot otherwise be funded through the normal budget process. In fact, the majority of the Foundation's budget is dedicated to these efforts. This year, the Foundation has earmarked over $80,000 to support the annual awards dinner and provide grants for specialized training opportunities in areas such as leadership development, body worn camera technology, homicide and sexual assault investigations, and combatting the opioid epidemic- topics that are critical to the department's mission and success.

Rest assured, our police department continues to work tirelessly to be the kind of public servant every citizen trusts; to be a force for good in an increasingly difficult world. This Foundation will continue to do its part to help equip the department with the resources it needs to fulfill that mission, and to provide ongoing recognition that its officers and professional staff deserve. But, we cannot do it alone.

We need YOUR help!   Please partner with us in support of the Baltimore County Police Department by becoming a sponsor at the 39th Annual Awards Dinner & Program which is scheduled for Monday, April 29, 2019. Since the inclusion of sponsorships in 2006, the Foundation has raised over $282,000 which has enabled us to provide grants to the Police Department for the purchase of much needed equipment and to provide training opportunities for department members.

Your participation is critical to our ability to continue providing vitally needed resources to the Baltimore County Police Department. Please take a moment to pledge your support today.

Sincerely,
