Logo and Words Fostering all in one
New Mexico Fashion Week 2016 is pleased to announce that the Albuquerque Conve ntion Center will onc e again be home for the growing event. Runway shows will be held in Ballrooms A and B the evenings of Friday April 15th and Saturday April 16th.

"We are thrilled to be back downtown
," said Melissa Lea Beasley, Founder and Executive Director of NMFW. "We have nearly 20,000 square feet of space in which to showcase fashion."

Each evening will feature six different designers, utilizing a new floor layout that is free from risers and a traditional T-shaped pathway. Instead, models will walk a floor-level path through the audience, creating an intimate display of fashion-forward thinking. Attendee s will never be more than three rows away from the action.

There is abundant nearby parking at both street level and underground, with numerous restaurants and bars available within walking distance. After- parties will be held on both nights at locations to be announced soon, as well as a Sunday morn ing fashion brunch.

Featured vendors will display their wares both nights, while designers will staff their booths on the night they are not walking the runway. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. both evenings, with the runway shows starting at 7:00 p.m.. Guest speakers will also lead seminars during the week.  More details to come.

"We are proud to be a part of the resurgence Downtown Albuquerque is undergoing," Beasley added. "It is exciting to see our city grow and evolve. Being able to do it fashionably makes us all look even better."

Clothing Drive
New M exico Fashion Week is once again partnering with Haven House, a Rio Rancho-based shelter for women, for a clothing drive. Although the clothing drive is year-round, the primary giving season is the period leading up to and including New Mexico Fashion Week (April 13-17).
Donors are requested to bring professional garments and accessories that are in good condition. This includes dresses, skirts, blouses, shoes, and other accessories appropriate for office wear. All sizes are needed.

Amy Vermilion is leading the clothing drive again this year, and will be coordinating the sorting and delivery of all donated items. Last year, more than 1300 items were donated. Haven House helps women get back on their feet, and ready to enter or re-enter the workforce. Quality professional clothing helps speed up this process.

"This is a great opportunity for women to help other women in need, by donating clothing that is seldom used," Vermilion said. "It's a great way to give back to the community, and help put women back on the track to confidence and self-sufficiency."

Tax receipts are available. For more information on how to donate, contact Amy Vermilion at 505.301.2683.
Vendor Call
New M exico Fashion Week has issued a Call For Vendors for the April 13-17 event. A 10X10 space is available for $500, which covers both days of run way shows. Doors open at 5:00 pm, allowing attendees to shop for two hours before the runway shows start. Vendors may also sell after the shows as well, and during intermission.
