PTO Report
The LNS PTO would like to thank all who joined our first virtual PTO Meeting. We had 61 attendees and it was a huge success! Thank you again! Look for more information on the next meeting soon.
Even though our membership drive has ended, we still encourage you to join the PTO! You can join at any time. We can always use the help and we have fun! Plus, you can feel good about helping your child's school and supporting their education. You can join here:
We are in the final push for our Fall Fundraiser with Shop Fund! We have until the end of the day Friday to sell, sell, sell! Make sure you have signed up your student and be sure to share the link via text, Facebook, email and Twitter. Let's make this fundraiser a success! For additional details, check out the PTO Facebook page.
All new and improved! No more clipping! You can now download the Box Tops for Education mobile app. Once you download the app, shop as you normally would, then simply scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will then automatically credit your school's box tops to earnings online. Scanning your receipts needs to be done no later than 14 days from the of purchase. It's never been easier to help our school earn funds for education. Download the app today!

Still have box tops? No worries! We will take them! Bring them to school in a ziplock bag with your name, grade and teacher's name on it. Teachers can place them in the PTO mailbox. Thank you for your participation!
Help support LNS by going to Amazon Smile and designating Laurel Nokomis PTO as your charitable organization. After that, the Amazon Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to LNS on Amazon shopping done through the AmazonSmile portal. It costs you nothing and your Amazon shopping experience will be the same (wish lists and preferences carry over to the portal).
The Laurel Nokomis PTO is in the process of securing business partners to support the school for the 2020-2021 school year. If you are interested in being an LNS Business Partner or know a business or someone that would like to be a LNS Business of Family Partner, please contact us at

A Note from the Principal

We completed our first full month of school and our teachers, staff, and students have been awesome! I am really impressed at how our students are adhering to procedures relating to wearing their masks, navigating the “one-way” directional arrow markings, using the sanitizing stations properly and really adjusting to the new normal of this pandemic. For our Remote-Learner families, I want to thank them for working through technical glitches as we are still trying to find a clear channel for online instruction. Our teachers are working EXTREMELY hard to surmount teaching BOTH in-person students and online students simultaneously. It is quite a difficult task to manage two groups of learners as well as manipulate numerous sophistications of Zoom, Blackboard, online textbooks and other resources concurrently. I am confident that it will just get better and better each week as everyone adjusts to the new routines! As always, LNS will find a way to lead the way!!
Together, we got this! We are Lightning S.T.R.O.N.G. (Striving Together Reaching Our Newfound Greatness).

A Message to Band Parents from Ms. McKenzie

LNS Band Parents! Our year is off to a good start in our LNS Band Program! All of our students are working very hard to learn, grow and achieve with success! Students should practice for at least 10-15 minutes daily to help reinforce what is learned in class.

All band students need to have the following each day in class: Instrument and everything to be able to play, method book, black binder, sheet protectors, 5 tab dividers, notebook paper and pencil.

Our band is in need of donations of the following:

If you are able to help, please reach out to Ms. McKenzie in email:
