Saints Celebrated Today

The Martyr Jullian, who was born to a pagan father and a Christian mother, was from Cilicia, confessed the Christian Faith before the Proconsul Marcian, and was perfected in martyrdom at the age of eighteen, when he was put into a sack with sand and venomous serpents and cast into the sea. Saint John Chrysostom has a homily in his honour.

Terence, also known as Tertius or Terentios, was the second bishop in succession after Saint Sosipater (Nov. 10; Apr. 29) in Iconium, where he converted many pagans to Christ through his words and deeds done in the power of the Holy Spirit, also baptizing those converted by Saint Sosipater. to read more click here

Did you know that you can light a Virtual Candle from your computer?

YOU CAN!!!

Simply click on the picture and you will be taken to our website where you can light virtual candles. There are 3 easy steps:

Take your computer mouse over the candles on the table.
Click on a candle to pick it up and bring it the the virtual flame.
Light your candle and hover over the candlestand until the base is highlighted, click on your mouse and the candle will be placed in the virtual sand!

We thank the Library/Museum Committee for overseeing the setup of the online program and of course the Internet Ministries Department of the Archdiocese who is able to make this happen!

ST NICHOLAS OFFERINGS - St. Nicholas is having its Annual BBQ on Saturday June 20th from 11:30am to 3pm and Gyro Day on Sunday June 21st from 11:30am to 2pm.

VCC UPDATE - Due to a lack of registrations, VCC 2026 will not be taking place this year.

SAINT PAISIOS SHOWING IN MUSEUM LIBRARY– There will be 2 showings every Friday, with a matinee at 12pm and an evening showing at 6pm. Come see the Greek television show, which will have English subtitles.

GARDENING MINISTRY - The next Gardening Ministry session will be held on June 29 at 9am.

PROSPHORA – We invite you to be a provider of prosphora to be used for The Divine Liturgy. We use 5 loaves on average for each Sunday Divine Liturgy. We appreciate your help with this special offering. Please click here to learn how to bake this beautiful offering.

The Assumption Parish has requested to help on the 4th Sunday of every month. Anyone who is 16 or order can volunteer to help! If you are passionate about making a difference in your community, there is no better time than right now to join our volunteer team! Main Sermon 6/21/26

As Jesus walks along the Sea of Galilee, He sees Peter and Andrew casting their nets into the sea and then sees James and John mending their nets with their father. To each of them He extends the same call: "Follow Me." What is remarkable is how they respond. The Gospel tells us that they immediately left their nets and followed Him. No excuses. No delays.

The same can be said about the Saints we celebrate today, Prophet Elisha and St. Methodios Pat. of Constantinople.

Main Sermon 6/14/26

Today the Sunday after Pentecost is dedicated to All Saints, those who in every generation have lived a life well pleasing to God, because there are many "known" Saints that we have learned about (and from) yet we may not know many of these Holy Men, Women and Children who truly gave their life in following the message of the Gospel.

This month many schools will hold their graduation/moving on ceremonies in which many speakers will offer words of guidance and encouragement, for the fields of vocation that many will begin their steps towards.

Bread has been the emblem of God’s providence for us, throughout humanity’s history. Both physical (bread as food) and spiritual - the επιούσιον (epiousion) or “supersubstantial” bread of the Lord’s prayer, the bread of Holy Communion.

In the Orthodox Christian church, the pinnacle of our worship is union with Christ, both spiritually but also physically, by consuming the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Since the Last Supper, before every Divine Liturgy, one or more of the faithful prepare and bring bread to church to be used as the Body of Christ in the Eucharist. The Orthodox church is liturgical. For those of us who bake prosphoro, the liturgy begins as we prepare to bake!

Prosphoro is an offering to God, made from His material gifts to us, and prepared lovingly and prayerfully.
