Dear Friends,

This Sunday we celebrate the 3rd Sunday of Ordinary Time. Once again, today's letter is going to be "just the basics".

COVID-19 continues to rise in SC and in Chapin. Be prudent and don't take unnecessary risks. Please do not attend Masses if you have any symptoms of a cold (cough or sneezing), the flu, or Covid-19 or even if you just don't feel 100%. Join us online instead. Mask use continues to be recommended and encouraged for all.

Due to the icy conditions this past Sunday I did not offer a blessing at the end of Mass for married couples. I will offer the blessing this Sunday for all married couples celebrating their wedding anniversary during the month of January at the end of Mass. Please stand and bow your head when requested for the blessing.

Faith Formation classes and Youth meetings will RETURN on 23 January 2022. Hopefully the Covid surge we are currently experiencing will be over by then. LIFE TEEN is meeting this Sunday and the The 5PM Sunday Mass IS a LIFE TEEN MASS!

Other events to make note of:

The Knights of Columbus will be out on the plaza after all Masses this weekend to take orders for their 2nd Annual Smoked Boston Butts Fundraiser (in Memory of Alex Ciani). Pre Orders only. See the flyer HERE.

The Valentines Day Dance has been cancelled and will hopefully be rescheduled in the spring, Covid permitting.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form will be offered at 6:30PM in celebration of Candlemas Day on 2 February. See the flyer HERE. The Blessing of Candles will take place at the Noon and 6:30PM Mass.

The Blessing of Throats will take place at all Masses on 6 February in observance of the Feast of St. Blaise on 3 February.

Some brief, but important news and reminders:

The 8:00AM and 10:30AM Hospitality Hour will not be held until the Covid Surge subsides.
Friendly Voices, our newest parish ministry, is always in need of Neighborhood Contacts. Please see their flyer HERE and sign-up to be a part of this ministry.

It is never too late to make a donation to the Bicentennial Campaign as we receive 100% of all new donations! visit DONATE NOW!

Peace and all good,

Fr. Dennis
PARISH FINANCIAL UPDATES
ABOVE** budget by 4.89%

This past Sunday's collection was affected by the icy weather on Sunday. Hopefully, we will see the deficit made up this coming Sunday.

The 2021 Bishop's Annual Appeal has ended. We will update you on the final numbers for the diocese and our parish once we receive this information from the diocese. The 2022 Bishop's Annual Appeal is about to begin. Look for more information in the coming weeks.

The weekly financial report is available HERE. We had a wonderful Christmas Collection. THANK YOU!!!

Please remember that every gift to the church helps, no matter the amount. We emphasize equal sacrifice--not equal giving! THANK YOU for your generosity and support!!

Prayer of Spiritual Communion:
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly
to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen
