CCSD93 Staff Showing Off Moves to Spread Some Joy
As we continue to get through this together, CCSD93 staff members are thrilled to be able to spread some joy with our community. If you have not yet had the chance to watch CCSD93's District Office staff boogie to the funky stylings of JT, I can't stop the feeling that you'll enjoy this video.
And while you are at it, check out Elsie Johnson School educators busting some moves!
Weekly Remote Learning Attendance Check-In Starts This Week
Starting this week, we are asking parents to take a minute at the end of each week to complete an attendance check-in. It will help us improve remote learning, be more informed for the start of next year, and meet Illinois State Board of Education requirements for student attendance. Please watch for emails and text messages with links to the survey and complete it weekly for each of your students.
Keeping CCSD93 Students & Families Safe
As student, family, and staff wellbeing remain our highest priority at CCSD93, it is critical that I continue to reemphasize the value of the following to reduce or prevent the spread of COVID-19:
  • Please continue to adhere to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Study after study continue to show that social distancing (keeping at least six feet from others and not gathering with those outside of our home family unit) and regularly washing hands for 20 seconds (the time it takes to sing "Happy Birthday" twice) are two of the most effective practices in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
  • Please take the guidelines of the Governor's Stay at Home Order seriously. Reducing in-person interactions is shown to help.
As always, please continue to visit www.ccsd93.com/COVID19 for the latest updates on everything as we move forward, as well as technology help, health, social services, internet, and food resources.

Thank you for your continued flexibility as we navigate this situation together. Please review the articles below for more from CCSD93.

Sincerely,

David H. Hill, Ed.D.

CCSD93 Kindergarten Registration for 2020-21 Open to Parents Online April 13-24
With school closures, CCSD93 has worked to make its Kindergarten Registration digital for students entering kindergarten in 2020-21. If you have a child entering kindergarten next school year, visit www.ccsd93.com/kindergarten starting this Monday, April 13 to begin the four-step registration process.

You'll be able to complete the first two steps on the website by watching an introductory video and filling out an initial contact information form. Then on May 4, you'll receive a complete registration form via email (step 3), and at a yet to be determined date, you'll eventually provide the school with the child's birth certificate and your ID (step 4).

The Kindergarten Registration window will remain open from Monday, April 13 to Friday, April 24. Note the website will not be updated until April 13. Please forward this email to anyone you know with children entering kindergarten in CCSD93.
CCSD93 Student Project Uplifts Healthcare Professionals
Before spring break, students in Mrs. Munter and Mrs. Cassidy's 4th grade class at Elsie Johnson wrote personal letters of thanks and encouragement to healthcare workers in COVID-19 ICU and ER units across the country for their extraordinary efforts at this time. View the heartfelt response that Pat, an ER/trauma nurse in San Francisco who sees dozens of potential COVID-19 patients each shift, had when he received some of the class letters in the mail! Visit CCSD93's Facebook page for copies of student letters.
