Leader Spotlight

Besides their own parents, one of the biggest influences in students’ lives is caring adults who model a Christian living. That’s why we love and honor the leaders from 4:12 who dedicate time and effort to disciple our students every Wednesday, and I want you all to meet them.

Aaron-Marie Thoms: Middle School Leader

I have been attending Marion Methodist for years and just recently became a member. I LOVE working with my girls on Wednesday nights because their insight and growth are inspiring - and I love us all growing in our faith together!

Sarah Mussman: High School Leader

I’ve attended Marion Methodist for about 18 years. I love Jesus- He has changed my life. I love being able to share that love with others. I feel it is really important to pour into the younger generation and to give them a safe place to learn and grow in their faith. It has been so powerful to see the hunger our youth have to grow their personal relationship with God.

Cassie Parcher: High School Leader

I've been an active member of MM for 28 years!  Being someone who grew up in this church, I know how easy it is to take your faith for granted. It wasn't until a few years ago that I took ownership of my faith and truly met Jesus. I had always known Him and leaned on Him when I needed Him, but it was a very one-sided relationship. I want to help kids experience Jesus deeply and truly right away. To develop their own faith and not one that relies on their parents’ faith. To remove any desensitized feelings they have to the truly remarkable story of Jesus. To show them how to not allow worldly things to define who they are. That our identity is in Christ Jesus, who loves us completely.

Annalise Santillan: Middle School Leader

We came to serve at Marion Methodist just over a year ago and have loved getting to know the family of Christ here! My journey in youth ministry started at 17 years old when my youth pastor asked me to take on a group of 6th-grade girls at our middle school program. I fell in love with watching them soak in the Word of God and felt so honored to be a part of God’s plan to see them grow that I have continued to serve as a youth leader ever since - going on 13 years now! I’m no theologian, just a simple sinner who’s seen God’s grace wash over me time and time again, and desire each of our youth to know the same!

Cara Matteson: Middle School Leader

I have been attending MM for about 11 years. I started serving in the youth ministry when my kids were young because I wanted to connect with them deeper and show them how much my faith means to me. Attending church consistently on Sundays and Wednesdays is something we all look forward to and has allowed all of us to grow in our faith and establish a church community. This is the third year I have been volunteering with the 4:12 youth ministry as a small group leader and it has been amazing to witness the faith journey in the youth at MM! God has 'nudged' me to share with the youth how God touches my life, be a listening ear, and give them some practical ways to seek and connect with God. Every week I walk away feeling so blessed and thankful to be given this opportunity!

Alex Mussman: Middle School Leader

I have been attending Marion Methodist since 2012.

I serve in Youth Ministry because the Gospel is clear about modeling a Christ-centered life and sharing the Truth of Christ with everyone, not just adults. I want to offer the youth in our church and community a place to discuss the challenges they face every day with Christ-centered perspectives.

Aaron Davenport: Middle School Leader

I have been attending Marion Methodist for 4 years! I am motivated to serve in the youth ministry because of my experiences being a student in 4:12 just 2 years ago. I remember what it was like being a student and being poured into by our youth leaders. My past experiences in youth group motivate me to strive to be like my past leaders, while also having my inner student to make these students enjoy their time here at church while participating in fellowship.

Jenny Davis: Middle School Leader

I have attended MM for a little over a year. I am serving in the youth ministry to get involved in the church so I can get to know my new church community better. I love discussions about theology and faith, and I hope that I can help our youth groups feel more prepared for their future by serving in this ministry.

Leeanne Rodriguez: High School Leader

I’ve been attending Marion Methodist for 13 years. I really enjoy getting to know the youth and helping them discover and deepen their faith.

Colton Valenta. Middle School Leader

Colton has been attending Marion Methodist for more than a year and with many years of experience in Youth Ministry, he is passionate about investing in the lives of young people.
