[ Honor Authority ]
Submit yourselves to [the authority of] every human institution for thesake of the Lord [to honor His name], whether it is to a king as one in a position of power,

Show respect for all people [treat them honorably], love the brotherhood [of believers], fear God, honor the king.

Mark 13:14  (AMP)
14 "But when you see the [ a]abomination of desolation standing [in the temple sanctuary] where it ought not to be (let the [ b]reader understand) then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.

"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord].

Matthew 22:36-39  (AMP)
36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"  37 And Jesus replied to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'  38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].'

4/2 HOLD CHURCH TODAY?

Good Day! For me, it is sad that some pastors are 'spitting in the governments eye' so to speak and still holding church services in the traditional way.

One man on social media told me that "I'd better watch out how I talk about pastors" on this issue. That is, until I told him that I was one.  Then there was silence. Here is what I see:

1. We must love people first. Do the best for them. Putting them in danger of getting this illness or of spreading it out to others is NOT doing the best for them. I cannot see Jesus legalistically holding services in this virus situation just because 'we have the constitutional right'. That would not hold up in court. They have not targeted religion. They have said not to hold large group gatherings.

2. We must respect people in power. God says this, not me! A clever church could break down into small home groups. That is IF they had enough people of faith. To whatever size your State says is small enough. OR The church could hold services out in the parking lot, in cars. God knows many churches spend enough money on technology.

3. IF THE pastor and THE people still insist that they know better than the experts, here is how I could accept that on a moral faith filled basis;
a. Each member is allowed to claim that he has the faith to be there.
b. IF someone got sick OR spread COVID 19 to others. The group would be prepared to take care of those people in all ways so as NOT to put them on the system outside of their group.
c. IF they got someone sick with COVID 19 they would be prepared and welcome paying the lawsuits for victims.
Most churches have been reasonable and had a streaming of services and some, like our church, have drive up Lords Suppers.

Let us pray.

Dear Father God,

May we examine ways that an almighty God with faith filled people can humbly adapt ourselves, yes, like children to changing conditions around us.

  In Jesus Holy Name,
     AMEN!
