Save a Life, Make a Difference

  • There are a variety of ways in which you can help safe a life during this pandemic. Stony Brook Medicine is currently looking for people who have recovered from the COVID-19 virus to determine whether they are candidates for plasma donation which will be used to treat patients. For additional information, visit their website at: https://www.stonybrookmedicine.edu/COVID_donateplasma.

  • Please visit the Survivor Corps website learn where you can also donate plasma. Donating plasma and participating in research is critical to stopping the spread of the virus, developing a vaccine and getting back to a normal life. MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

  • On behalf of WE CARE, Chair Chris McGrath asked me to remind everybody that even under stay at home orders, the hospitals need blood and that any members who are able to donate, may do so. The blood centers are particularly conscious of protecting both the staff and the donors. If you wish to donate, you can find a center near you by visiting New York Blood Center or the American Red Cross.

These times are difficult, and we could not make it through without the healthcare and front-line workers who are protecting us, saving lives, and fighting to put an end to this pandemic. We are so grateful to you and sincerely thank you for everything that you do.

Regards,

Rick Collins
