Nassau County
Bar Association

April 24, 2020

Dear NCBA Members:

At the NCBA, we are always seeking to expand services and engage the greater legal community, including future lawyers. To that end, the NCBA COVID-19 Community Response Task Force is pleased to announce that law students will be incorporated in the provision of pro bono legal assistance to local residents and businesses facing significant legal challenges.

In support of volunteer attorneys, law students will research legal issues and draft memoranda across relevant practice areas. This presents an opportunity for volunteer attorneys to build professional relationships with talented students by providing supervision, constructive feedback and mentorship.

In her capacity as an NCBA Board Member,
Hon. Maxine S. Broderick, will coordinate pairing interested volunteer attorneys with law students as well as ensure that the program is both comprehensive and mutually beneficial. For more information, or to get involved, contact Judge Broderick at [email protected] or COVID-19 Community Response Task Force Chair Martha Krisel at [email protected]  We look forward to hearing from you.

Now more than ever, the WE CARE Fund, a part of the Nassau Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Nassau County Bar Association, is in need of funding to continue its mission of giving back to Nassau County residents in need.

It is important that members who have generously supported WE CARE in the past continue to do so.

To make a donation to the WE CARE Fund, contact Patti Anderson at (516) 747-4070 ext.1208 or visit our website at  www.nassaubar.org/donate-now .
