Since joining the Board in May of 2013, Mr. Scott Stone has personified dedication as a member of CCSD93’s Board of Education. During that time, including three years as Vice President and the most recent three as President, he gave generously of his time and energy to support the District. Mr. Stone devoted countless hours to preparing for, participating in, and leading Board meetings.
As Board President, Mr. Stone led with integrity, insight and a clear focus on student success. He was a thoughtful leader who held himself and others accountable while always prioritizing the needs of students. Under him, the Board remained focused on expanding opportunities for all learners while being mindful stewards of District resources.
He was integral in the development of both CCSD93’s Portrait of a Graduate and its 2023-2028 Strategic Plan. During his tenure, he helped to guide the district through a transformational period that saw our buildings redesigned with enhanced security and state-of-the-art innovative learning environments. He attended numerous school functions and served as a keynote speaker at 8th grade graduations.
Among the wide range of committees Mr. Stone participated in were District Learning Team, Facilities Committee, Boundaries Committee, Special Education Parent Advisory Group, Jay Stream STEM Lab Design Committee, the Board Policy Customization Committee, and Finance Committee. Mr. Stone leaves behind a remarkable legacy of leadership, and I’m deeply grateful for his guidance and enduring contributions to our school community. Thank you, Mr. Stone!
Jay Bastian was elected as a Board member in April of 2023. Driven by data and a desire to ensure all CCSD93 students are served equitably, Mr. Bastian lent his talents to CCSD93’s Finance Committee, Boundary Committee and as a liaison for the PEP Foundation. He was a principled decision maker who always worked diligently in the best interests of students. He will continue to represent and advocate for our community as a member of Glenbard District 87’s school board, which he was elected to earlier this month. Thank you, Mr. Bastian!
