4,808-acre conservation easement permanently protected in the Florida Wildlife Corridor

Part of the Red Hills Conservation Florida Forever Project, the 4,808-acre conservation easement recently closed and is now permanently protected. The property is located within the Red Hills Region of Leon County and the Florida Wildlife Corridor.

Thank you to the leadership of the landowners, the Department of Environmental Protection, and Tall Timbers for coming together to protect this land.

The property is comprised of rolling pine uplands and depressional wetlands including more than half of Foshalee Slough, which lies within the northern border. The easement contributes to critical land connectivity, sustainable forestry, and groundwater recharge in the state.

At Wildpath, we lead photography and storytelling campaigns that celebrate each new piece of the Florida Wildlife Corridor approved for protection. To learn more about the properties being protected, visit our website wildpath.com/progress.
