Message from President

Greetings Soroptimists!

Which vegetable should you never invite on a boat trip?

A leek!

Well- it's time. The long awaited Hilarity for Charity comedy show is just about upon us. If you haven't gotten your free ticket as a member, follow the instructions in the eblast to be included in our count. Contact Joyce if you need help. Bring your friends to this event! Also, The Chico Food project will be there collecting non-perishable food, so bring your contribution. What a great way to support an important cause, introduce people to Soroptimist and have an evening of entertainment. I'm looking forward to seeing you all there.

Wednesday's meeting will feature one of our favorite awards programs. This is another awesome opportunity to show interested friends the work our club does each year. I know Giving has chosen some very worthy recipients who have amazing stories to tell.

It's another great week to be a Soroptimist!

With Gratitude,
Soroptimist International of Chico

THIS WEEK'S PROGRAM

Please join us tomorrow at our  Awards Presentations as we present our Ruby Award and Positive Parenting Award to some very deserving women.

Kim Huber, Marge Rivas & Miles Berdache Lynk
Co-Chairs Giving Committee
Our Member of the Month for April is Sara Beacham

I am a Chico local, born and raised. I have left Chico on several occasions but there's something in the water that keeps bringing me back. I joined Soroptimist originally in 2005 and left in 2011. I rejoined in 2018. In case you didn't know, Joan Stoner is my mom.

Most days you can find me in my gym. I own and operate a small strength and conditioning gym. My client schedule keeps me busy, and I genuinely love being in the gym. Whether I am working with clients, running a class, building workouts or rearranging equipment, the gym is truly my happy place. If I am not in the gym, you can find me hanging at home or out walking my dogs. (They insist!) This is my other happy place - hanging with my hubby (Nick) and my fur babies (Lotus and Carhartt). Ahhh, love!

I love helping people accomplish their goals, whether in fitness and health or in life and business. I love the look on a person's face when they celebrate their victories that I had a part in helping them achieve.

In my "spare" time, I like to run, watch uplifting shows, and conquer a jigsaw puzzle. I am a podcast and Audible junkie, and eternally looking to learn.
