4-H Member Spotlight

Hi, I’m Deborah Loseke. I’m currently a junior in high school, and I’ve been in 4-H since I was in third grade. It’s crazy to realize that this is my ninth year!

Throughout my time in 4-H, I’ve been the president of my club (Lucky Clovers) and secretary for the Junior Leaders council. I'm currently the secretary of my club and vice president of Junior Leaders. I’ve been in the Clothing and Foods and Nutrition projects for nearly every year I’ve been in 4-H, and I’ve also enjoyed a variety of artistic projects, including Photography, Painting, and Graphic Design. I choose projects based on what I’m already interested in in hopes of improving that skill. For example, I’ve decorated a few cakes in the past and enjoyed it, so this year I signed up for the Cake Decorating project.

I’m grateful for 4-H for not only building material skills but also leadership, as I’ve worked on public speaking and being a role model for younger 4-H members. If I had to pick a favorite thing about 4-H, I’d choose the Fashion Revue because it’s always such a positive experience to see members across clubs supporting each other as they show off the outfits they’ve worked so hard on.
