NEW Arapahoe County Dates and Deadlines Document
|
In order to keep our 4-H families and volunteers informed on 4-H dates and deadlines, the 4-H team has created a document containing an updated list of county-wide dates and deadlines for the 4-H year. This document will be continuously updated and a link will be included in the newsletters and on the Arapahoe County 4-H Member Resources webpage. Click on the image to the left to view the document.

Attention Cat Project Members!

Please make sure to enter in your Cat ID information in 4HOnline. That includes pictures and vaccination records. Without that information it is considered incomplete. Please remember that members need to be 8 and older as of December 31 to enroll in animal projects. The deadline to submit your animal ID info is Saturday, May 1. Arapahoe County Dog Fun Match
|
You are invited to participate in the annual Arapahoe County 4-H Spring Dog Fun Match! It will be held on Saturday, May 7 at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Judging will begin at 9 a.m. Click on the image to the right to go to our online registration form.
All payments will be made on the day of the show at the event. If you pre-register by 4/29 the cost will be $18 per exhibitor. Without pre-registration the cost will be $20 per exhibitor. We look forward to seeing you all at our match on May 7th at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds.

Our own Shaylen Florez has set up a Cat Workshop with the wonderful Marlena Griesse! Marlena is a 4-H Agent in Otero County and is also the State 4-H Cat Show Superintendent. She knows all things related to cats and showmanship. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to ask questions, learn more about cats and showmanship.
The Cat Workshop is scheduled for Thursday, May 12 6:30 PM via Zoom. Please click on the image to the left to register for the workshop.

Fashion Revue Committee 2022
|
We are in need of volunteers and 4-H members that are interested in being a part of the Fashion Revue Committee. Our first committee meeting via Zoom is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 5:30 PM. Please email Shaylen @ sflorez@arapahoegov.com if you want to be a part of the committee and she will send you the link for the meeting. This is a fun way to help plan the theme, workshops, music and so much more.

Shooting Sports Information 2021-2022
To be eligible to participate in 4-H Shooting Sports in Arapahoe County for the 2022 year, 4-H members and their parents must sign up to attend a MANDATORY Safety Meeting at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds:
March 20, 10-11am (shooting in the afternoon on the range) - This is the LAST SAFETY MEETING for this 4-H year!!
All of the information needed to have a great year in 4-H shooting sports will be covered at these two events.
Hunters Education is not required prior to practicing but you will need to pass the class by July 1 to be eligible for County Shoot. Parents: Are you interested in becoming a 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor? Please reach out to Ethan Cahill ecahill@arapahoegov.com or Katy Vincent at 303-913-7314 to learn how you can get involved. Volunteers must be fully enrolled and active in 4HOnline prior to registering for a training.

Your green practice card must be stamped with the required number of practices attended and 2 fundraising stamps this year to be eligible for county shoot. We will be holding a raffle in 2022! Watch for more info coming soon!

April 7 at 6:30 the Arapahoe County Horse Committee will be holding a Horse Safety Training and Information Session at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds. We will be covering important dates and answering any questions you may have on the 4-H Horse program, levels testing, ride meetings, County Fair as well as having some fun hands-on activities. Hope to see you there.

Calling all pizza lovers! Join Arapahoe County 4-H for a pizza party camp! Learn to make your own pizza dough, try out new tasty toppings, and make several different pizzas!
- When: Friday, May 13th & Saturday, May 14th
- Who: Youth ages 10-12
