Parent/Guardian Season Passes

All sales for the 4-H Advance Parent/Guardian passes will close at 11:59 p.m. on SUNDAY, 6/30/24. You will need to include the 4-H member’s name(s) as well as any other required info. Including the member’s name(s) will greatly help Jean when she is getting the wristbands (passes) together and ready for distribution. Click here to purchase passes. Please note that neither the parent/guardian season pass, nor the 4-H exhibitor passes include the carnival. Separate tickets for that must be purchased, if desired. You can purchase those by clicking here. If you need help with understanding the different passes/tickets, you can also email Jean with those questions.

Every 4-H member who is exhibiting at the Fair will get one free season pass (wristband). You do NOT need to purchase one for your 4-H member if they are exhibiting at Fair. If you have a 4-H member who is not exhibiting at Fair, they will need a pass (or ticket) purchased for them if they plan on attending.

See page 5 in the Fairbook for more detailed information about the various pass/ticket options. If you (for whatever reason) have not yet received a physical copy of the 2024 4-H Fairbook, they are also available on our website by clicking here.

Ear Tags

Each year we have a number of animals across all species who lose their ear tags for various reasons (fall out, rip out or must be cut out due to infection). As soon as you realize your project animal has lost its ear tag you should notify your superintendent and the extension office. They will then make arrangements to come out and retag your animal. It is best if you are able to find your old tag and have it available for the superintendent. This has been our policy and way of handling these issues for years. If the tag must be cut out due to infection or some other reason, it is best if you allow the superintendent to do it, request permission, or have your veterinarian do it for you. You should not take it upon yourself to cut a tag out. This year we can and will compare retinal scans when necessary. We do this to ensure the animals are the same animals which were originally tagged in at our events. Please contact our Superintendents if you find yourself in this situation.

Colorado State Fair Rabbit Nominations

Colorado State Fair Nomination forms for rabbit classes are due on July 5. Please email Hannah Henderson at hhenderson@arapahoegov.com for a copy of the nomination form and for a signature.

Ready to be Famous?

Have you ever wanted to represent 4-H in Arapahoe County on TV? Now is your time to shine. We are looking for several 4-H youth to bring animals for a TV Segment with Aurora 8TV on July 17th. If you might be interested, please reach out to Hannah Henderson at hhenderson@arapahoegov.com.

SALE COMMITTEE CORNER

Congratulations!

The one and only Rhonda Dinan was the recipient of the 2024 Above and Beyond Award. This state-level award is for a 4-H volunteer who continuously does more than their enrolled expectations and duties. As many of you know, Rhonda is involved with the Horse Committee, the Fair Planning Committee, is a parent advisor for the Junior Livestock Committee, and is a volunteer for the Urban Ranchers Day Camp. She is generally the first person to arrive and the last to leave at our events. Several of our youth and staff had the opportunity to celebrate Rhonda’s efforts at our Colorado 4-H State Conference. It was also Tori Dinan’s birthday that evening, so we want to thank the Dinan family for celebrating these special moments with us.
