Updated Club Chartering Information

Your club or committee’s chartering documents must be emailed to Jean at jwalton@arapahoegov.com  by August 31st . We will then upload your documents into 4HOnline for you.  Leaders need to completely fill out the chartering packet and send it to us. Electronic signatures are acceptable. All document signers must be enrolled and activated in 4HOnline! You do not have to upload the documents in 4HOnline.

Please note that ALL clubs MUST use the template the State has provided. No Exceptions. Articles I, IX and X must match the template word for word or your bylaws will not be accepted. You cannot change, delete or add anything to those articles. For the 2021 - 2022 4-H year, you will not have to resubmit the bylaws if nothing has changed.

If your club dissolves, please note that we have to have a statement from the bank showing your club account has been closed and has a zero balance. If your club doesn't have a bank account, just include a note that there was no previous bank account.
We would love to get the ball rolling early so this is not a last-minute project come August. Please engage your club members (virtually) in developing and updating your Annual Plan, Budget, and Financial Review. This is an IRS requirement of all 4-H clubs, committees and other entities. All of us at the county and state level are doing our best to make the process as easy and painless as possible. Thank you for your continued effort and work towards building a strong 4-H program in Arapahoe County. We hope this reminder allows you some time to start to prepare to get this accomplished. Click on the button above to access the chartering documents. We are here to support you, so please let us know if we can help in any way.
Urban Ranchers Virtual Camp – through August 14
Make plans to join us for our Virtual Urban Ranchers Camp, through August 14.

While we are bummed we couldn't have an in-person camp this year, we have put together a self-paced virtual camp that gives youth the opportunity to learn about livestock, agriculture, and what it is like to raise livestock.

The program is FREE and features recordings of our duck hatching and swimming! The camp is open to youth of all ages (and those young at heart) but focuses on those 8 to 13. Feel free to invite non-4-H members and family! Click on the image to the left to register!
Thank You!!
  • We want to thank our 4-H intern, Daniela Martinez for all of her help during the summer. While her initial plans were to help with in-person programming, she has helped the Extension Office to put together 4-H STEM kits, developed our Virtual Urban Ranchers Camp, assisted with State 4-H Contests, and helped with our 4-H completion events. We wish Daniela the best of luck as she works on her Master’s Degree at CSU. Thank you Daniela for all that you do!
  • Also a BIG thank you to all the volunteers, committees, extension staff and fairgrounds staff that helped pull off the 4-H events. We couldn't have done it without you!

Judging Sheets
You should have received your judging sheets per email this week! The only ones who haven’t received are the Advanced Clothing and Heritage Arts as those have not arrived from the judge yet.

State Fair Submissions (FCS & Gen.)
This year state fair submissions for FCS/General projects will done virtually since we did them virtually at the county level. As we get more details from the state 4-H office we will pass on information in a separate email. The ONLY projects that move on to state are “state classified” champion projects. These do not include county projects such as Cloverbuds, Self-Determined, Expressive Arts, Pets and Modelcraft.

Please make sure to read through your judging sheets. If you don’t wish to have Jean promote your champion project to state fair please make us aware.

Face to Face Programming Request Policy
We appreciate your patience as we work to continue to offer high quality 4-H programming in Arapahoe County. As of May 16, 2020, CSU Extension has directed that we will continue virtual delivery for a vast majority of our programming. For those activities that are not able to be completed virtually, such as shooting sports practices (with certified shooting sports leaders), horse levels testing, horse practices, dog practices, and livestock clinics, CSU Extension will permit in-person activities that comply with all federal, state, and local regulations and public health guidance . At this time, this does NOT include 4-H club meetings, those will still need to be held virtually at this time. Please email our 4-H staff if you have questions about specific activities.

If you are interested in hosting an event, you must contact Arapahoe County Extension Staff at least TWO WEEKS prior to the event. This will allow for the office to develop a program plan request to be submitted to CSU Extension Administration and State 4-H. All activities must be submitted to CSU Extension administration prior to the event, 4-H staff will work with leaders on the required documentation for these programs. These activities will also adhere to CSU policies in support of public health and safety. Our ultimate goal is to remain relevant, strong partners within our Colorado communities, while also supporting their health and safety.

As part of Arapahoe County Government’s gradual facilities reopening plan, the Arapahoe County CSU Extension Office is now open by APPOINTMENT ONLY. We will not be able to accept walk-in clients at this time. Please email individual 4-H staff members to set up an appointment. Thank you!
