4-H Club Chartering

Attention Club Organizational Leaders! It's that time again! Club and Committee/Council Chartering time, that is. An email was sent out on 7/12/24 with all the documents attached that are needed for Chartering.

Some things to note this year:

  • The Financial Report MUST be typed again this year. Handwritten reports will not be accepted by the State Office.
  • Financial Reports MUST have two signers. They can be related but they cannot live at the same address.
  • Also on the Financial Report, make sure your ending balance for last year’s chartering documents matches the starting balance for this year’s chartering.
  • Electronic signatures are acceptable.
  • Please use the attached club chartering worksheet. This will help you make sure you have everything needed for chartering.
  • Also, please turn the club chartering worksheet in to Jean with the rest of your club chartering documents as it will make it easier for her to find all the info she needs to enter your chartering info into 4HOnline. Many thanks to the leaders who have done this in the past!
  • Jean will be entering all chartering documents in 4HOnline again this year. Leaders do NOT do this.
  • Club Bylaws DO NOT need to be redone this year unless the club has made changes to their bylaws. You must still send Jean the bylaws along with your other chartering documents, but as a separate file please.
  • When you are doing the Annual Plan, if your club has too many meetings/activities to fit on the provided form, just make a note on the form to see the additional sheet(s) and then you may attach your plan on separate pages.
  • All club chartering documents will be due to Jean by Friday, August 16 at the latest.
  • When you submit your documents to Jean, please send her the club bylaws as a separate attachment from all the rest as she has to upload it to a different location, and this will make it quicker for her. Thanks!

More Opportunities

State Fair Teen Clerks and Volunteers Needed!

Do you want to meet and work with 4-H'ers and County Specialist from across Colorado? Do you enjoy coordinating 4-H contests with youth and adults, arranging exhibits, and helping produce a large, successful 4-H State Event? Then join the Colorado 4-H State Team today!

The State 4-H Team is looking for teen clerks and volunteers to participate in State Fair clerking August 12 – 20!

August 12-13 – Entry Crew

August 14-15 – Judging Crew

August 16-17 – Display Crew

August 17-18 – Contest Crew

You can sign up for one, two or all the crew opportunities! This is a great opportunity to hone your leadership skills and learn just what it takes to put on a successful State 4-H event.

Some responsibilities include assisting with entering and judging of Family Consumer Science, General and Natural resource projects; assisting superintendents with contests (Shooting Sports, Creative Cooks, and Rocket Fly Day); accurately record entry information, arranging entries, working one-on-one with judges, recording comments, and scoring on projects, awards, displaying, decorating…and so much more!

We are also organizing our meals better this year and will be asking youth to help 'take a shift' to help our volunteers prepare the meal or clean up! More information will be shared during our online training session. Below you will find what we are tentatively planning for the week's meals.

Breakfasts: Bacon, Eggs, Pancakes/Waffles, Cereal, Fruit and Yogurt

Lunches: Sandwich fixings, Tacos, Salads, Chips and Fruit

Dinners: Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Pulled Pork/Chicken, Salads, Fries, Chips, and Fruit

Snacks/Desserts: Fruit, Granola Bars, Cookies, Crackers, Ice Cream, Cobbler, and Cupcakes

We want to make sure that everyone is provided a well-rounded meal, so no door dash orders are needed! Please email me directly with any questions. Thanks! - Joy Bauder – 4-H Data Systems Specialist, joy.bauder@colostate.edu

4-H Volunteer Survey

Front Range 4-H staff are planning a 4-H Volunteer Symposium on Saturday, November 23 at the Adams County Fairgrounds. To ensure we are meeting the needs of our 4-H volunteers, we have put together a survey to find out more about topics you as a volunteer would like to know more about, struggles or challenges you face as a volunteer, and how we can provide better training opportunities to our 4-H volunteers.

This survey will remain open until August 15. If you have any questions about this survey, you can reach out to Claudia Meeks, 4-H Outreach Program Supervisor in Arapahoe County, at cmeeks@arapahoegov.com.

We plan to start registration for the Front Range 4-H Volunteer Symposium in September.

Your feedback is valuable to our mission to better serve 4-H volunteers along the Front Range.

Click on the image above to take the survey.

FREE TO A GOOD HOME!

Greetings 4-H Sewers! This Bernina 730 Record was one of my mother’s prized possessions. She passed quite some time ago. It’s now time for a new, younger sewing enthusiast to adopt this machine to create your own unique works of art (clothing) or home décor. This could be considered “vintage” but it’s a great Swiss-made tank of a sewing machine. The machine has internal cams that allow you to select from 20 different stitch patterns. It can easily make button holes, can generate embroidery works of art and has numerous presser feet to assist in your artistic finishing. Easy to read User Manual, case and all accessories are included. Please contact Kim at kroberts105@msn.com if interested. First come, first served.
