A Colorado Hunter Safety Certification Card is required to participate in 4-H Shooting Sports practices and competitions.
If you are new to the 4-H Shooting Sports projects, please register for a Hunter Safety class as soon as possible, classes fill fast!
For more information, please ask your Club Project Leaders or give us a call at the Extension Office at 720-733-6940.

Shooting Sport Leader Certification Training Dates
Registration for Weld County Training class is OPEN.
Registration for Pueblo County Training class will open on Feb. 6th.

Payment will be made to our local Douglas County Extension office. Details will be emailed after you register.
Reminder: All volunteers must be enrolled and approved in 4-H Online before they can register for training. Please register to be a Shooting Sports Leader, we need you!
NEW this Year! You have been waiting for this, and this year they will be having condensed Shooting Sports Leader Recertification Training on April 25th, 2026 in Morgan County. Volunteers who are in need of recertifying to keep their certificate up to date will be eligible to attend the recertification training in Morgan County on April 25, 2026. This will be a modified version of the training and will be a combination of online modules and an in-person class. More information will be available soon. *Volunteers needing to recertify who choose to go to any of the other three trainings will be required to attend all 15 hours of the training. Please NOTE: Leaders taking Recertification Training will be covered to be able to start practices at the beginning of April 2026.

The Douglas County 4-H Horse Steering Committee is proud to present the Douglas County Buckle Series again this year!
This year the show will include: Showmanship, English Equitation (Pattern and Rail classes), Show Hack, English Control/Hunter Hack, Western Horsemanship (Pattern and Rail classes), Ranch Riding, and Reining/Western Riding. We will have divisions for Walk/Trot (limited to Douglas County 4-H youth only), 8-13, 14-18 and 19+.
The Horse Steering Committee would love to see you all at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on these dates: February 21st, Sunday March 22nd, April 25th, May 17th, and June 13th.
