Helpers Needed for 4-H Events at Fair


We can't do it without all your help! We appreciate all the support of our 4-H programs and Douglas County Fair is the best week of the year! We are looking for extra help to support our events. Areas where you can help, please signup using the buttons above. THANK YOU!

  • Help at Exhibit Day as an Assistant Judge (Adults) or Project Runner (Youth)
  • Help with Project Patrol for the Exhibit Hall during Fair Week (Youth & Adults)
  • Help with the County Shoot Events (Certified Shooting Sports Leaders and other Adults/Youth Jr Leaders)

📸 2026 Colorado 4-H Digital Photo Contest

Who Can Enter:

All Colorado 4-H members ages 8–18 and you do not need to be in the Photography project.


Photo Requirements:

  • Must be taken by the 4-H member
  • Photo must be taken during the current 4-H year
  • Submission Process:
  • Submit entries via the Colorado 4-H State FairEntry system..
  • Log in using your current 4-H Online family email and password.

Deadline: 📅 July 17


Winning Photos: 🏆 Displayed during the Colorado State Fair in the 4-H Exhibit Display Dining Hall

Shooting Sports Practice Cards DUE by June 26th at 5:00 pm, please turn in now if you have met the 3 practice minimum


Practice cards are required to be able to compete at County Shoot events.


We are only one week away from the Due date for your Shooting Sports Practice Cards to be turned into the Extension Office.

Practice Cards need to be emailed to julie.tanaka@colostate.edu or you can drop off a paper copy to the CSU Extension Office at 410 Fairgrounds Rd, Castle Rock.


What's required:

  • You must have records of at least 3 practices for each discipline, signed by your 4-H Shooting Sports Leader
  • Submit your cards as soon as you have completed your 3 practices per discipline (Please DO NOT WAIT until the last day)
  • You can email a photo of your Practice Card to the office (reply to this email) and keep the hard copy to log any additional practices between now and County Shoot and to record in your Shooting Sports Project Record Book
  • The Extension Office will be open Friday, June 26th, but please do not wait until the last day if at all possible.

During the Shooting Sports events coming up, please keep your eye out for youth going above and beyond showing others how to be a Good Sportsman. Please submit your nominations for the Makayla Dame Good Sportsman Award for youth that exemplify sportsmanship and show care for others.

Awards and Placings from all the County Shoot Contests will be announced at the Shooting Sports Awards Banquet on Wednesday, July 15th, starting at 6:00 pm. We will have a BBQ dinner provided by a generous donation from the Cargill company and the Bangerter Family!

If your youth qualifies for the State Shoot Competitions, you will need to let us know and pay the registration fee the night of the Banquet.


State Shoot T-Shirt Sponsors: We are currently looking for T-Shirt sponsors. Any donation of $50 or more will receive their name on the back of the shirt and a free shirt for their sponsorship. If interested, please notify Oscar Ridgeway or the Extension Office as soon as possible, Thank you!
