ALL Entries Due June 13 th in Showorks

NOTE: Rabbit and Poultry members fill out their entry forms at ID day on June 10th. We will have computers available at ID day so you will be able to enter your animals in Showorks that same day. There will be representatives from the office to assist you in entering your rabbits and poultry. It is highly recommended that you enter Fair on ID day! If you do not enter into Showorks at ID day, you must enter by June 13th.

All livestock/animal members must enroll in showmanship
Even if you enroll your animal into Fair, unless you enroll into showmanship, your animal will not be eligible to compete for Grand or Reserve Grand Champion in the market classes and you will not be able to participate in the livestock sale.

If you can’t participate in Fair, you will still be able to complete your 4-H project by dropping off your record book to the Extension Office after Fair and by doing showmanship with your Organizational Leader.
All horse members must enroll in showmanship
Even if you enroll in the horse project into Fair, unless you enroll into showmanship, you will not be eligible to compete for Grand or Reserve Grand Champion or High Point.
 
If you can’t participate in Fair, you will still be able to complete your 4-H project by dropping off your record book to the Extension Office after Fair and by doing showmanship with your Organizational Leader.

Contact Mary Parenti or Pam Long about questions related to Dog Showmanship as this showmanship differs from actual livestock showmanship.
County Shoot members must enroll in
Exhibit Day
To participate in County Shoot, you must enter your project into Exhibit Day. If you are shooting more than one discipline, you must do your project (EXHIBIT) on only one discipline. Your record book, however, must have all disciplines represented. 
  • Start the Fair entry process early in case you have problems
  • ALWAYS PRINT OFF YOUR ENTRY RECEIPT
  • Check it to make sure you are entered in the classes you want.

4-H Member ID Badges for Fair
Members who are new or do not have the GOAT or RABBIT ID badge MUST get a new badge for this year.

This year, all Exhibitors will be receiving a commemorative 100 th year badge for Fair.
If you have a badge with a goat, a rabbit, a steer (this year's animal), or the 100 th year badge you will be able to get into the Fair. Next year you will not be able to use the 100 th year badge to get into Fair.

To apply for a badge, complete the security id form (link is below) and take a photo of the 4-H member (shoulders and above), then email both the form and picture to  [email protected] . The form and a picture must be emailed by  Thursday, July 12th   at 5:00 pm  to give the Sheriff’s Office time to process the badges. Club leaders will be contacted to pick up from the Extension Office and distribute to members. No one will need to pick up badges from the Sheriff's Office.

All Poultry Members MUST Attend Poultry ID Day Including Market Members
Market Members: You do not have to bring your market birds, but you must attend and complete the Poultry Entry Form and turn it into Christy VanBibber at ID Day.

All Poultry members must enter their birds, market birds/meat pen birds in ShoWorks by June 13 th to participate in Fair – NO EXCEPTIONS 

Each club has a designated time to attend – see schedule below. If the member is not able to attend, please find someone to bring the birds on June 10 th .

If you or your birds will not be able to attend OR YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE contact the Poultry Superintendent:

We will have computers and people to assist you at Poultry ID day to enter your birds into Showorks. It is highly recommended that you enter your birds into Showorks at ID day. If you do not enter in Showorks at ID day, the deadline to enter is June 13th.

All 4-H members and their rabbits going to fair MUST attend the ID day on June 10th. If the member is not able to attend, please find someone to bring the rabbits on June 10th. Please call Robin Vogel at 303-514-2053 in advance to arrange for this change.   
Exceptions:
  • Market/Meat Pen Exhibitors are not required to attend; HOWEVER the member must enter their market/meat pen rabbits in ShoWorks by June 13th. 

  • Rabbits too young to ID on June 10th will have an ID Day on June 27th from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Multipurpose Building.
Any rabbit not checked in on ID Day will not be allowed to be shown at the county fair.

We will have computers and people to assist you that day to enter your information into ShoWorks. It is highly recommended that you enter your rabbits into Showorks June 10 th at ID Day. If you do not enter in ShoWorks on June 10th, you will be given a copy of your entry form(s) with classes at ID day and will need to enter them in ShoWorks by June 13th to show at Fair.

E-Record:
You must use the “Companion Animal” e-record book for your pet rabbit project.

D.C. Rabbitears is hosting a showmanship/general husbandry clinic for all 4-H kids that are showing rabbits at the 2018 fair. We will have a judge that will score your showmanship with your rabbit so you know what to work on for fair. Come dressed in your showmanship clothes, and bring your rabbit & carpet square. Get your rabbit tattooed for ID day. $2 a tattoo.  RSVP to Christine

Rocket Fly Day

Saturday, June 9th
9:00 am - Extension Office

For those of you registered to participate in the Rocket Fly Day contest this Saturday, June 9th, please meet at the Extension Office at 9:00 am. We will start with the written test and move to the parking lot for launching.
Help to represent our county and the 4-H program!

Parker Days Parade will be held on Saturday, June 9 th at 8:45 am. If you are interested in participating in the parade, meet Scott Candelaria (303-358-9401) at the Parker Arts, Culture and Events (PACE) center building at 8:00 am: 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue, Parker, CO 80138. He will be driving a red truck pulling a flatbed.
