Sedalia Saddle Club has invited the CSU Sci on the Fly Mobile Lab to our March meeting! This mobile lab will teach kids about the deep connections between humans, animals and the environment. (March 10th at 6pm at the CALF.) We would love to see other clubs have the opportunity to take advantage of this as well!

The Douglas County 4-H Horse Steering Committee is proud to present the Douglas County Buckle Series again this year!

This year the show will include: Showmanship, English Equitation (Pattern and Rail classes), Show Hack, English Control/Hunter Hack, Western Horsemanship (Pattern and Rail classes), Ranch Riding, and Reining/Western Riding. We will have divisions for Walk/Trot (limited to Douglas County 4-H youth only), 8-13, 14-18 and 19+.

The Horse Steering Committee would love to see you all at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on these dates: Sunday March 22^nd, April 25^th, May 17^th, and June 13^th.

Animal Science 101: Selection Series

Youth who are preparing to select their next 4-H project animal are invited to learn from industry leaders about what to look for when making their selection. This three-part series will feature dedicated sessions on market swine, market sheep, and market goats. Attend one session or join us for all three!

Jonathan Marr Memorial Scholarships – Due April 1

Application information for the Jonathan Marr Memorial Scholarship can be found here.

One $500.00 scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating senior 4-H Member who has been enrolled in Shooting Sports for a minimum of four years. This scholarship is intended to assist individuals entering a postsecondary vocational or technical field, such as welding, carpentry, mechanics, etc. 

**New this year: members who have been in Metal Working are also eligible to apply for the scholarship.

CALF - Colorado Agricultural Leadership Foundation

CALF Ranch has an amazing opportunity for 4-H Livestock kids to be able to house animals at their Ranch just south of the Fairgrounds. CALF is seeking volunteers beginning in April to support our spring youth education programs. Volunteers help students engage in hands-on agricultural learning experiences right here at Lowell Ranch. No agriculture background is required, we provide training! It’s a wonderful opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with kids and being outdoors.
