Cryogenic Gear Treatment- Is it for you?
You may remember a tech corner months ago when we first started offering cryogenic treatment for our transmissions. It explained the treatment and how it worked. This time we're going to outline some benefits of the treatment and help you decide if it's right for you.

1. Strength -  Many people install high torque/ horsepower engines that exceed the ratings of the TREMEC transmissions.  If your engine produces more power than the transmission you want is rated for, then consider getting the cryogenic treatment.  The treatment will increase the rating of the TKO 5-Speed to 950 lb-ft of torque and the Magnum to 1,100 lb-ft. So, if you want the strength of the magnum but the size of a TKO, then cryogenic treatment may be for you.

2. Durability - If you plan on spending more time on the track than off with your car, you may want to get the treatment. Cryogenically treated gears will be more durable and resistant to damage from aggressive shifting.

3. Future Plans - If you want to drive your car now but plan on one day updating your engine to one that exceeds the current limits of the TKO or Magnum, it's better to treat the brand new transmission than a used transmission. Treat it now and later everything will be in place for the extra power.
TKO 500 or TKO 600, What's the Difference?
Why doesn't SST charge you more for the TKO 600 than the TKO 500? Because they're basically the same transmission and TREMEC sells them for the same price! Jeff goes over the real differences between the TKO 500 and 600 and gives advice on how to choose the best one for your application.

MAGNUM XL - Late Model Mustangs
If you or a friend have a 2005-2014 Mustang and are dissatisfied with the performance of your Getrag MT-82 transmission then consider the Magnum XL  PerfectFit Kit for 2005-2014 Mustangs

The OEM transmission had a remote shifter which many people disliked and there were many people who just didn't enjoy the feel of the Getrag MT-82.  TREMEC elongated the tailhousing of the Magnum and made a few other changes to create the Magnum XL. George's 1967 GTO featured at the top, is beautiful. He wrote our CEO Jack to tell him what he thought:

Survivor 1958 Period Correct HEMI Race Engine
Dave, a customer from England, had his 1958 392 Hemi rebuilt and it is a beautiful work of art. He's putting a TREMEC transmission behind it. Watch this video for a step back in time.

Another survivor engine!
Just wished to share with you my 58 392 Hemi build in England and thank you all for the support and parts you have supplied.
My engine builder was very impressed that all the engine parts fit first time around.
It's a stock build, nothing fancy, only upgraded the Cam.
Pulls 415 hp and 454 ib/ft tq
Gone for Nostalgic look, not speed.
Now have to get it hooked up to the gearbox which also fit first time around to Race at Pendine Sands

Lost 9 months on truck build has I had to wait for engine and then have it rebuilt
Actually only getting it tomorrow
Last week stripped chassis back to a bare frame as putting 45 Buick drums all round on it
Work starts in earnest this week to get chassis rebuilt and engine in
About a years work to fit in 6 months as we are racing at  the  VHRA event at Pendine Sands at the end of June
Will send you an update and pics once we have it done
Now to see if your gearbox works with the engine !!
