It's Summer. Like for real.

Some practices are now closed on Fridays and conferences have slowed down until the Fall (with the exception of the APMA National).

Speaking of the APMA National... are you going? It's in Dallas July 24 - 27.

Make sure you read to the end to give me your opinion.

Anywho... how are you using this time?

My perfect summer time slow down includes a few mini vacations with my kids, plenty of time spent dreaming up ideas for the future of PodiatryMeetings.com, lots of fruity umbrella drinks by the lake, and an in-depth review of what I've accomplished so far this year and what I'd like to accomplish before 2026 is knocking on my door.

A Few Fun Facts About Me

Not only do I run PodiatryMeetings.com but I also own Clover Conferences where I specialize in helping conference organizations be compliant with CPME rules (Super Fun!).

I also try to help my husband any way I can with his local service business, The Chapin Lock Guy.

This is our 6th year homeschooling our 3 boys who are going into 10th grade, 5th grade, and our little guy is only 10 months old so right now he's focused on crawling.

We live in rural South Carolina, in a small lake town on Lake Murray.

I lived in Florida (Dunedin and Tarpon Springs on the west coast) until I was 35. I'm a UCF girl.

Trade Secrets for Everyone

A Bit of Genius from the Archives: The Importance of Rapport and Brand Building with Dr. Alton Johnson

Whether you like it or not, how patients, colleagues, and even future employers perceive you goes beyond your credentials.

In this energizing talk, Dr. Alton Johnson (aka AJ the Foot Doc) breaks down why building your brand as a person, not just a provider, is one of the smartest moves you can make early in your career.

He also shares how strong rapport can open doors you didn’t even know existed. If you’re thinking long-term about your reputation, opportunities, and career freedom, this is 15 minutes well spent.

Do you lecture online, or host / sponsor webinars?

New data shows webinars that are 20-30 minutes long are much more effective and collect more registrations because attendees don't have the subconscious burden of devoting an entire hour.

Even TED Talks has shortened its guidelines from 19 minutes to 13 minutes.

Is Mobile X-Ray the Right Fit for Your Practice?

This sponsored article is one I was genuinely excited to share. If you’ve ever looked into adding X-ray to your office and immediately felt overwhelmed by the options, cost, construction, or logistics, you’re not alone.

Mobile and handheld X-ray options aren’t just cool tech. They’re practical, flexible solutions that can improve patient care without turning your office upside down.

I think you’ll find this breakdown from SureFit both valuable and refreshingly realistic.

Trade Secrets for Meeting Planners

I sent an email on Friday about the new CPME rules for accredited CECH providers.

If you missed it, you can read it here.

Warning: as usual, I didn't shy away from calling out CPME and airing my grievances.

The PodiatryMeetings.com Claim To Fame:

Every Podiatry Conference. One Calendar.

All the info you need, all in one place.

July 2025

August 2025

September 2025

October 2025

Is your conference listed on the calendar? If not, reply to this email with the details and I'll make sure we get it added.

Oh - I also offer advertising options if you're interested in promoting your meeting.

Save the Date

The FPMA SAM Conference is taking place January 28 - February 1, 2026 in Orlando.

Make a plan now to attend or exhibit. Registration and prospectus information should be available in early September.

2026 is a renewal year for Florida physicians, meaning attendance should be at an all-time high with podiatrists getting all their required credits.

Booth rates are expected to remain "about the same" as 2025 with a similar floor plan layout.

Podiatrists - schedule your out-of-office time now. Whether you are a Florida doc or not, you won't want to miss what's quickly becoming the largest conference in the industry.

Vendors - save space in your budgets and start thinking about ways you can bring your A-Game to this mega event.

Final Thought

I'll leave you wondering with this cryptic thought:

If you are paying attention, you'll notice the tides shifting. Some legacies are being built, others are being borrowed - or even stolen. There are little clues everywhere. I've been reading between the headlines, and I'm not the only one.

APMA has only 443 attendees on their registration list (as of June 23) and that includes 9 APMA staff members such as Melanie Carter and Meghan McClelland. Exhibitors that have never missed an APMA National conference are missing from the roster but showing up big at other events. What are your thoughts on this?
