Candidates Announced for 2019 AHAI Board of Directors Election
Five (5) candidates have submitted their nomination in accordance with the AHAI By-Laws to fill the five (5) open seats to serve a three (3) year term on the AHAI Board of Directors. The Board of Directors election will be held at the beginning of the Town Hall meeting (12:00 p.m.) at the 2019 AHAI Affiliate Leadership Conference. Please note that an asterisk after name denotes an incumbent AHAI Director.

Tier II Substitute Choice Application Process for 2019-2020 Season
The Tier II substitute choice application process, Squirt 10U through Midget 16U/18U will begin on July 19, 2019. All applications will be submitted online. The Tier II Committee will only have (3) three appeal hearings this year for those denied a substitute choice.  The dates for the appeals are August 8, August 28, and September 10, 2019 at 6:30pm at the North Shore Ice Arena. If denied, please email Gregg Chudacoff, AHAI Tier II Chairman, at  gregg.chudacoff@ahai2.org with your preferred appeal hearing date. The deadline for applying for a substitute choice will be September 15, 2019.

The AHAI Foundation Golf Outing Needs Your Help!

31 Illinois Players Invited to the 2019 USA Hockey Central District High Performance 14 Player Development Camp
Congratulations to the 31 Illinois players who have been invited to attend the 2019 USA Hockey Central District High Performance 14 Player Development Camp in Ames, Iowa, June 16-21, 2019. Their selection was based on their performance and ratings at the AHAI Player Development Evaluation Tryouts held March 22-24, 2019 at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville. VIEW INVITEES>>
IHOA Announces 2019-20 Board of Directors & Officers
The Illinois Hockey Officials Association (IHOA) held their Annual Meeting on Monday, May 13, 2019, at the Darien Park District Building in Darien, Illinois. The following Officials were voted by the membership to serve 3 year terms on the IHOA Board of Directors: Don Mrozik, Eric Cowsill, Dave Zednik, Samantha Cebulski and John Dunne. The IHOA Board of Directors also voted and approved the following IHOA Officer positions: Eric Cowsill - President, Don Mrozik - Referee-In-Chief, John Dunne - Supervisor of Officials, Carl Sassolino - Vice President, Dave Zednik - Registrar, and Samantha Cebulski - Secretary.
IHOA Announces 2019 Scholarship Recipients
During the IHOA Annual Meeting on Monday, May 13, seven (7) student officials who exhibited in school, on the ice and in their community the true spirit of USA Hockey, AHAI and IHOA were awarded IHOA Scholarships. IHOA congratulates Conrad Ebbecke, Stanislaw Gunkel, Gavin Pawell, Nathan Rutledge, Garrett Tighe, Kieran Tomich and Jack Young and wishes them good luck in the next chapter of their lives.

AHIHA to Sponsor Disabled Hockey Coaches Clinic on June 9th
AHIHA is very proud to sponsor a Disabled Hockey Coaches Clinic on Sunday, June 9th. The clinic will be conducted by Lee Costley and will take place at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, Illinois. This clinic is open to individuals who plan on coaching disabled hockey. Topics include, Sled Hockey, Blind Hockey, Warrior Hockey, Standing Amputee Hockey, Special Hockey and Deaf/Hard of Hearing Hockey. Please click HERE for complete details.
Blackhawks and United Center to Host First U.S.-Based HockeyFest on June 22-23
The Chicago Blackhawks have announced the team will host HockeyFest - Game On!, the world's largest street hockey tournament, on United Center campus parking lots from June 22-23, 2019. This marks the first time ever that this traveling event will be held in the United States. With more than 30 divisions ranging across age, gender and skill level, hockey players of all ages, including adults, are invited to participate.
