I'm on the ground in Puerto Rico, I'm walking the streets with my wife every day, we are experiencing the pain and devastation that Maria left behind.
I'm hearing a lot noise about US not helping the people of PR, THAT IS NOT TRUE, EVERY single Federal agency possible is here on the ground kicking some major ass, there are thousands of Military, Homeland security, FEMA personnel and the list goes on and on.
The airport is not letting comercial planes fly because of ALL the military and first responders flights that are CONSTANTLY day in and day out flying in and out.
If you have opinions with political agendas I want to tell you is not helping the cause.
It's time to unite, and stop the stupidity but is a right that every American has, you are totally entitle to be wrong and look like an axx. (Thanks, Sheri)

"Honestly, we just want to see some change -- that's all we want," Lions receiver Golden Tate said. "We're hurt. As people, we are hurt. Navy Seal Widow Taya Kyle to NFL:
"Did it ever occur to you that you and we were already a mix of backgrounds, races and religions? We were already living the dream you want, right in front of you."
Your desire to focus on division and anger has shattered what many people loved most about the sport. Football was really a metaphor for our ideal world -different backgrounds, talents, and histories actually made us one big team with one big goal - to do well, to win, TOGETHER.
You dear NFL, have taken that. You have lost me here.
You have a lot of strong  guys, I am sure in the off season a lot of them could build some pretty big bridges if they care enough to do the hard work. That would involve getting off their knees and getting to work though. I can do it while I raise two kids as their only parent and work through the greatest pain of my life, let's see if they can do it for the issues they say they care so much about.  More

NFL Facts on Free Speech!:
2011: The N.F.L. experienced a rare, if not unprecedented, religious feud over "the knee" Tim Tebow took.  2013: The NFL fined Brandon Ma rshall for wearing green cleats to raise awareness for people with mental health disorders.
2014: Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press conference wearing a shirt that said "Know Jesus Know Peace" but was forced to turn it inside out by an NFL uniform inspector before speaking at the podium.
2015: DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing "Find the Cure" eye black for breast cancer awareness.
2015: William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness for domestic violence. (not that the NFL has a domestic violence problem... <sarcasm>)
2016: The NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing a decal on their helmet in honor of 5 Dallas Police officers killed in the line of duty.
2016: The NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to wear cleats to commemorate the
15th anniversary of 9/11.

Tamyra Lynn Murray - This is real I just called...(800) 342-5283. This is the number to Anheuser-Busch. They want to know how you feel about NFL players kneeling during the anthem and if they should continue supporting the NFL through advertisement dollars. Let them know what you think. It's an automated system and asks if are calling about the NFL. Press 1 and then leave your message.
Mike Moreau  One positive unintended consequence of this irrational debacle is that people are starting to question the special favors and tax status of the NFL. Hopefully the special status of major league sports will be examined and and they will be treated like the business that they are.
Marcy Desmond Jankovich  - Puerto Rico Hurricane death toll: 16.  Chicago death toll this weekend?
Bob Reminga - Ask the Mayor of San Juan about the union workers who refuse to transport supplies to the victims. These union workers are hard core Democra ts. The ports are well supplied however, only 15% of these union workers are willing to drive & aid in relief efforts. It's now time to fact check & stop blaming Trump for problems caused by Democrats. Puerto Rican officials mismanaged funds. Obama signed a debt relief bill last summer for millions.    Their mayor is ungrateful & placing politics before people. Only days ago was she publicly singing Trump's praises.   Things were a mess long before Maria. Stop exploiting a natural disaster simply to vilify Trump. FYI...I'm Puerto Rican so don't bother playing the race card.
Gaj Wilcox - The far left wants to drive the narrative that the USA is an evil country. Why? They want to change everything
Joe Blowski - Rochelle Riley has an article in yesterday's Freep with the headline "No Room for Public Racists". So I assume she'll be resigning?
Jim Kriner - Nullification is a "natural"right. Thomas Jefferson and James Madison confirm this in the Kentucky and Virginia resolutions. They never said that Article V was the rightful remedy for the unconstitutional Alien and Sedition Act, No. They said nullification is the rightful remedy. So now we have a clear understanding that Article V was not intended to rein in an abusive government, it is intended to fix defects of the Constitution.
Tom Gantert - as I say, the real battle going on in this country isn't about political parties ... there is one political party -- Bigger Government ... and they are battling against American citizens ...I tell everyone -- find me a citizen that wants computerized red-light cameras giving us tickets ... yet, more and more communities are using them ...
Marcy Desmond Jankovich - The (Tennessee church) shooter, Samson, 25, is a native of Sudan but resettled in the United States in 1996. Now do you understand why President Trump wants vetting? Wonder why MSM thinks the NFL is more important than this news.

Say no to COS, a true ConCon!
James Madison , author of the Constitution and co-author of the Federalist Papers was horrified to learn in 1788, just months after ratification of the Constitution, that New York and Virginia sought an Article V Convention. Madison wrote G.L. Turberville November 2, 1788:
If a General Convention were to take place for the avowed and sole purpose of revising the Constitution, it would naturally consider itself as having a greater latitude than the Congress...It would consequently give greater agitation to the public mind; an election into it would be courted  by the most violent partisans on both sides... (and) would no doubt contain individuals of insidious  views , who, under the mask of seeking alterations popular in some parts ... might have the dangerous opportunity of sapping the very foundations of the fabric.... Having witnessed the difficulties and dangers, which assembled under every propitious circumstance, I should tremble for the result of a second, meeting in the present temper in America."

This collection of letters includes a most interesting one to Gen. Washington from New York dated 11/5/1788 concerning the Vice Pesidency, and one to Thomas Jefferson on the risks of a ConCon (see exerpt to the right).

James Madison can be considered the father of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Madison drafted  the Constitution , drafted and sponsored  the Bill of Rights , and co-wrote  the Federalist Papers.

Thomas Jefferson  as Secretary of State asked the Supreme Court in 1796 if an Art. V convention could be restricted. When not assured, he feared to call one. He wrote to Wilson C. Nicholas (Sept. 7, 1803)
"Our peculiar security is in the possession of a written Constitution. Let us not make it a blank paper by construction."

Justice Warren Burger:
" I have also repeatedly given my opinion  that
there is no effective way to limit or muzzle the actions of a Constitutional Convention. The Convention could mike its own rules and set its own agenda. Congress might try to limit the Convention to one amendment or to one issue, but there is no way to assure that the Convention would obey. After a Convention is convened,  it will be too late to stop the convention if we don't like its agenda"

"Intelligent people tend to talk about the facts. They don't sit around and call each other names. That's what you can find on a third grade playground." Dr. Ben Carson

Here we are at another NFL Sunday. That used to represent a time of fun, games and unity. I hope we can return to that situation soon. One of the reasons we play the national anthem before the game is to remind us that even though we're rooting for different sports teams, we are united as a country. That is a wonderful message that we should not allow to be distorted by anyone.
Of course we all have the right to express ourselves, but as the Bible says, there is a time and place for everything. Last week I saw a story about pre-adolescent players being drawn into the "take a knee" protests. Does anyone honestly believe that encouraging even our youth to believe they are victims of our society will actually help us come together?  I think many athletes actually think they are making things better. We would encourage them and all Americans to utilize their influence to truly draw people together and not be manipulated into doing the opposite under the guise of unity.

++ AMERICA FIRST
- Last week, President Trump delivered his first address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. In his remarks, President Trump outlined his Administration's policy of "Principled Realism," a clear pronouncement of America First principles as applied to the greatest threats the
world faces today. The President said that America is "among the greatest forces for good in the history of the world, and the greatest defenders of sovereignty, security, and prosperity for all." Trump supporters around the country should be very proud of how the President called for accountability on behalf of all countries to own their futures and join the United States under his leadership in a new vision for peace in the world, including addressing threats we face from North Korea, Iran, ISIS, and more.  (Source, White House Briefing)

++ Tech Education - President Trump signed a Presidential Memorandum expanding access to high-quality Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Computer Science education for K through 12 students. The plan re-directs at least $200 million per year within the Department of Education to support and prioritize STEM education. First Daughter and Presidential Advisor Ivanka Trump met with major tech companies (In Detroit) to discuss their support of the President's new education initiative. Through initiatives such as this, the President is determined to provide young Americans the education and skills they need to be competitive in our evolving job market. Announcing this new education directive, President Trump said, "We will help give our American children a pathway to success in the workforce of tomorrow ." (White House Briefing)

++ Campus Free Speech  - The Justice Department is ramping up its support for students who sue universities claiming their free-speech rights have been violated - including conservatives "who've been silenced in many ways," Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Tuesday. "Too much suppression of free and open speech on college campuses today," Sessions said. "Particularly conservatives being silenced in many ways. "Controversial speakers are being blocked. You have the veto by the heckler, who threatens to protest and disrupt the speech so the college may withdraw the speaker's invitation so they won't be a disturbance. These kinds of things really threaten the entire educational system in my view, the integrity of it."
"We have a heritage of free speech," he continued. "It's in our Constitution, it's deeply embedded in our whole approach to life and we need to push back so we are going to push back."   More

++ REGULATIONS - How Government wrecked the gas can -
- Soap doesn't work. Toilets don't flush. Clothes washers don't clean. Light bulbs don't illuminate. Refrigerators break too soon. Paint discolors. Lawnmowers have to be hacked. It's all caused by idiotic government regulations that are wrecking our lives one consumer product at a time, all in ways we hardly notice. More
State Rep. Steve Johnson introduced legislation that would make gas cans manufactured and sold in Michigan exempt from federal regulations.
Federal environmental regulations have resulted in self-venting gas can designs which often make pouring fuel a frustrating and exasperating task. Johnson's bill simply states that gas cans manufactured and sold in Michigan would not be subject to interstate commerce laws, and therefore not subject to federal regulations.
"I'm sure I am not the only who has spilled more gas trying to work self-venting pour spouts than in all my years of using traditional vented containers," said Johnson, R-Wayland. "This is a classic case of government regulations ruining a perfectly fine product made by the private sector."  Johnson's legislation is House Bill 4740.

++ Women's March Leader Deported For Being A CONVICTED TERRORIST - Convicted 'Palestinian' terrorist and leader of 'A Day Without a Woman' march, Rasmea Odeh, 69 was stripped of her U.S. citizenship and deported to Jordan this week. The Women's March organizers expressed their sorrow for Odeh's deportation calling her an amazing activist and organizer. Reminder, Odeh was convicted in Israel for two bombings. One of which was a supermarket bombing in Jerusalem, killing two students. The other bombing was of the British consulate.
Odeh was charged with immigration fraud for lying on her visa and citizenship forms about her past terrorist convictions and ties to terrorist groups. The deportation and stripping of U.S. citizenship is part of a deal for Odeh to avoid jail time.  Link

++ Rigged Polls! a recent Economist survey on Trump's approval rating used 58 percent more Democrats than Republicans. "In every poll, Democrat respondents outnumbered Republicans by significant amounts," Simpson wrote. "The Economist poll was the worst. Only 24 percent of respondents (360) were Republicans compared to 38 percent (570) Democrats - which means that 58 percent more Democrats were polled than Republicans... Link

++ Gun Laws - Women, Millennials shifting - Over the past 40 years there seems to have been an increase in the number of Americans who favor more gun control. The fight is finally shifting back in favor of 2nd Amendment advocates. The millennial generation is actually less in favor of gun control than the previous two, and it stems mostly from the female population. Currently, millennials are split 50/50 on gun control laws, with one of those halves favoring no additional laws whatsoever. That stems from the fact that 22 percent of millennial women are gun owners (as much as 5 percent more than previous generations). As such, millennial women are stronger advocates of the 2nd Amendment than those in any generation since WWII.  Link

++ Corrupt GOP?   Bannon Left the White House because Trump "Needed a wingman to go against the Republican Establishment." "It's not the Democrats, we'll get to them and we'll beat them, like we beat Hillary Clinton," Bannon said. "But the first thing you've got to get through is a corrupt and incompetent Republican establishment," he told the crowd to cheers. Republicans in Congress have failed to support Trump's "populist, nationalist, conservative" message and ideas, Bannon said. "They're not conservatives. They're liberals, and that is what we've got to fight every day," he said. Link (Thanks, Kerry)

++ Costs Mount for Equifax Hack, 143M Affected -
The company said a flaw in a tool (Apache Struts) designed to build web applications may have been at fault for the breach, CNN reported, adding that Equifax knew about the security flaw two months before the company admitted that hackers first exploited it to gain customer data.
"The breach lasted from mid-May through July," Seena Gressin, an attorney with the Federal Trade Commission. In ending the program last week, the president allowed a six-month window for Congress to decide what should happen to its beneficiaries. And media reports suggest that Democrats have the upper hand in negotiations.  Link

++ "FairTax" isn't!!! Regretfully, It locks in todays high rates then automatically increases them with every price increase. It is a bureaucrat's dream. Constant tax increases immediately at the cash register. And it forces all service companies and individuals into becoming tax collectors, reporting and sending money to the IRS. The mechanic, doctor, engineer, barber, lawyer, person who mows your lawn or plows your snow, the gal who sells knitting and the guy who makes bird houses - all collecting service taxes from you and reporting them to the IRS and State Treaturer. Millions more people wasting time collecting and reporting! Great ideal, LOUSY proposal

++ Young Republican?  - Recently, while working in the flower beds in the front yard, my neighbors stopped to chat as they returned home from walking their dog.
During our friendly conversation, I asked their little girl what she wanted to be when she grew up. She said she wanted to be President someday. Both of her parents, Democratic Party members, were standing there so I asked her, "If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?"
She replied.. "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."
   Her parents beamed with pride!
"Wow...what a worthy goal!" I said . . "But you don't have to wait  until you're President to do that!"
"What do you mean?" she replied
So I told her, "You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull  weeds, and trim my hedge, and I'll pay you $50. Then you can go over  to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house."
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"
I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party." (Thanks, Ernest)

++ T he chairman of a U.S. Senat e committee urged Gov. Rick Snyder to explain what he called "exponential" increases in Medicaid costs in Michigan
and whether the state is taking any actions to try to rein in expenditures. Questioning costs incurred under the Medicaid expansion program authorized under the Affordable Care Act, U.S. Sen.      Ron Johnson, R-Wis., said, "Federal expenditures under this expansion are soaring" in the Healthy Michigan program, which offers Medicaid coverage to people making between 100% and 138% of the federal poverty limit at reduced costs in exchange for them taking on healthy behaviors.
Snyder's office didn't immediately respond to the letter from Johnson. As Republicans in Congress have moved to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, Snyder has touted the success of Healthy Michigan, which currently provides health coverage to 664,375 Michiganders, asking that the state be given the flexibility to protect it and saying it has been cost effective in lowering uncompensated care. Link

++ Snyder warns Michigan lawmakers about Obamacare overhaul - "Altogether, there are 1.75 million children, seniors, pregnant women and disabled individuals served by traditional Medicaid in Michigan and roughly 104,000 of them reside in your district," he wrote U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg, R-Tipton, in a letter representative of those he sent out. The legislation, he went on to say, "will adversely impact them."
"Medicaid is not on sustainable financial footing and it cannot stay intact if we continue to kick the can down the road," said U.S. Rep. Mike Bishop, R-Rochester. "A major part of our health care reform package is about preserving and strengthening programs like Medicaid for years to come and not to pull the rug out from under anyone who currently relies on this assistance."
Added U.S. Rep. Paul Mitchell, R-Dryden, "This is not the first issue on which I disagree passionately with the governor. This is a rescue mission. Allowing the system to continue to collapse will result in even fewer choices and, eventually, a lack of access to care." Link (Thanks, Isabelle)
