What's Happening?

Starting as early as Tuesday night, May 20 and continuing for approximately two weeks, Lewinsville Road between Scotts Run Road and Snow Meadow Lane will be milled down and paved with new asphalt. Milling and paving work will occur between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Friday. Nighttime work hours will be used to lessen travel impacts and reduce the duration of work. Work will not occur during the Memorial Day holiday weekend beginning at noon on Friday, May 23 through 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27.

Roadway will be milled and paved across the bridge over I-495, shown in the background, facing east at the Lewinsville Road and Snow Meadow Lane intersection (May 2025).

What to Expect:

During flagging operations, motorists may experience brief backups periodically, as one-way traffic is directed in alternating directions.

Other construction impacts may include grinding noise from equipment used to mill existing pavement, engine noise from pavers and asphalt trucks, and noise from back-up alarms (required for safety reasons). Equipment operators will strive to drive in circuits to minimize the need for back-up alarms.
