What's Happening?

Work on Live Oak Drive from Bridge Over I-495 to Private Live Oak Drive

Following the realignment and traffic shift of the segment of Live Oak Drive near the Langley Swim and Tennis Club toward the new noise wall, work is underway to rebuild the Club’s exit and install curb and gutter. Construction in this area will be completed no later than Thursday, May 15, ahead of the start of the Club’s swim season on Saturday, May 24 (certain additional work may occur later, but it will not impact access to the Club).

Alongside Live Oak Drive, from the Club’s parking lot to approximately 1,300 linear feet north (beyond Private Live Oak Drive), areas behind recently constructed curbs are in the process of being cleared and will be graded, covered with topsoil, and seeded.

Extended work hours, including flagging operations directing alternating one-way traffic, are necessary to complete construction in this section of Live Oak Drive.

Clearing has begun in the earthen areas enclosed by curbs. The areas will be graded to the elevation of the curb, covered with topsoil and seeded for grass.

When?

Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Days: Monday through Saturday

Timing: Continuing through Thursday, May 15

Update, May 6, 2025: Construction work and flagging operation on Live Oak Drive near Langley Swim and Tennis Club will occur from 7 a.m., Wed., May 7 until 5 a.m., Thurs., May 8. Extended work hours until 9 p.m. and overnight work hours may be used through Thurs., May 15.

Subsequent Work on Live Oak Drive North of Private Live Oak Drive

  • Late Spring: Asphalt milling and paving on an approximately 300-foot segment of the northbound lane north of Private Live Oak Drive.

  • Summer: Installation of a noise wall, asphalt milling, paving and rolling, and curb and gutter installation on an approximately 700-foot segment of the northbound lane in the vicinity of Green Oak Drive.

What to Expect:

During flagging operations, motorists may experience brief backups periodically, as one-way traffic is directed in alternating directions.

Other construction impacts may include noise and vibration from equipment compacting soil, general engine noise from equipment performing grading, noise from back-up alarms (required for safety reasons), and asphalt milling, placement and rolling.
