Beginning on or about Monday, Jan. 16th, 495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project crews will begin installing barrier along Live Oak Drive for a distance of approximately 2,000 linear feet. Crews will begin setting the barrier slightly north of the intersection of Live Oak Drive and Green Oak Drive and will continue south along Live Oak Drive. This work is expected to continue through early February.
The map above shows the area on Live Oak Drive in McLean where barrier will be installed adjacent to work areas for the 495 NEXT project.
Work is planned to occur during daytime hours and will require Live Oak Drive to be reduced to a single lane to make room for the equipment used to lift the barriers in place. A flagging operation will be in effect on Live Oak Drive during this work, alternating north- and southbound traffic on the single lane.
