NOTICE TO LIVE OAK DRIVE RESIDENTS IN MCLEAN

Extended Work Hours and Lane Closures on Live Oak Drive

Beginning as Early as Next Week Through Mid-April

March 13, 2025

What's Happening?

Extended work hours are necessary to realign Live Oak Drive from the bridge over I-495 to the main entrance of the Langley Swim and Tennis Club, and to reconstruct the exit from the Club’s parking lot and adjacent area. When construction is active, flaggers will direct one-way traffic in alternating directions on Live Oak Drive. The extended work hours and Saturday work are necessary to maintain the project schedule.

When?

Flagging Operations:

Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Days: Monday through Saturday

Timing: Starting as early as Tuesday, March 18 and continuing through Friday, April 18.

Work Sequencing:

The realignment and traffic shift onto the new segment of Live Oak Drive is planned for early April. Completion of the reconstructed exit from the Club’s parking lot and adjacent work will be finished by mid-May (prior to the start of the swim season). Certain additional work may occur later, but it will not impact access to the Club.

Live Oak Drive traffic will be shifted left, and

the “bulge” will be removed, enabling crews

to complete the reconstruction of the Langley Swim and Tennis Club exit and adjacent area.

What to Expect:

During construction, motorists may experience brief backups periodically, as flaggers direct one-way traffic in alternating directions. Reconstruction of the exit from the Club’s parking lot and adjacent area will require closure of the exit, however the main entrance will remain open. Other construction impacts may include noise and vibration from equipment compacting soil, general engine noise from equipment performing grading, noise from back-up alarms (required for safety reasons), asphalt placement and rolling, and pavement striping.

The 495 NEXT project team appreciates neighbors’ patience as this work is performed.
