WHAT TO WATCH FOR
IN 2020
Beginning early 2020, the City of Aurora, IL. will launch a business licensing program. Throughout 2019, Invest Aurora has supported the City in their efforts of developing the program and will continue to remain involved into 2020. Our major roles will be communicating and emphasizing the individual and communal benefits of this program to business owners, assisting owners with through the application process as well as working "behind the scenes" to provide detailed business classifications for every registrant.
The primary objective of re-designing our website is to create a more user friendly, development-centric platform. Our efforts will focus on updating and simplifying our content, increasing the visibility of our programs and services in internet search results, and creating a more simplified user experience of our site selection tools. We anticipate a slow roll-out launch beginning mid-year with regular updates through the following months. Until the launch of our new site, the business community can continue to learn more about our services by exploring our currently active website at
investaurora.org.

"Last Mile, First Mile" are terms used to describe the difficult stretch people experience when trying to get from a nearby transportation hub to their final destination. With a workforce spread over 46 sq. miles, Last / First Mile issues are most often cited by the local business community as a significant obstacle in the recruitment and maintenance of a productive workforce. Recognizing the significance of workforce development in fostering and maintaining a strong and healthy commercial environment, Invest Aurora's retention Committee has begun exploring how these issues are currently affecting local employees. They'll then use this information to develop achievable transportation solutions to overcome these issues in 2020.
