Join the QQA for our 2019 Annual Membership Meeting & presentation of the Greater Little Rock Preservation Awards on October 23, 2019 at Moon Distributors, Inc. The event starts at 5:00 pm and ends at 7:00 pm.
In accordance with QQA bylaws, we invite members to send nominations for the QQA Board of Directors. Nominations and Development Committee includes Chuck Cliett, David Robinson, Gabe Holmstrom, Shana Graves, and Ashli Ahrens. Send nominations for consideration to:

Once the new QQA Board of Directors slate has been assembled, members will vote on the slate at the annual meeting. In addition, members will vote on a proposed by-laws revision. To see a copy of the new bylaws, please e-mail

Weatherizing Your Historic Building
|
A discussion of effective measures to weatherize historic buildings. Weatherization means implementing cost-effective measures to make a building's envelope more energy efficient. Weatherizing a historic building requires undertaking those measures in ways that have minimal impact on the historic buildings design and materials.

Dr. John Kirk, George W. Donaghey Distinguished Professor of History and director of the Anderson Institute on Race and Ethnicity at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, shares findings of his research on the impact of Urban Renewal policies on Little Rock's built environment.

Preservation Conversations 2019
In 2019, the QQA is hosting Preservation Conversations events on the second Thursday of each month, increasing lectures in this series from four in 2018 to twelve in 2019. Nine of this year’s talks focus on practical knowledge important for purchasing or owning a historic property. All events are located at the Mixing Room at the Old Paint Factory in the East Village, 1306 East 6th Street, 72202. 5:30 pm reception, 6:00 pm lecture.
Preservation Conversations 2019 is underwritten in part by the Arkansas Humanities Council, the Quapaw Nation, and a gift in honor of Carl Miller, a long-time supporter of the QQA and preservationist.

A brand-new event designed to get your spook on! This is an adult-only bus tour of several "haunted" properties around the MacArthur Park, Hanger Hill, and SoMa areas of Little Rock.
The 7:30 tour is sold out. The 5:00 pm tour starts with a reception until 5:30 pm. The bus loads after 5:30. Still plenty of tickets left, but they are also going fast!

Preservation Conversation 2020 continues the QQA's focus on practical knowledge about maintenance and upkeep of historic buildings, as well as some local history. Next year's line up is almost finalized, so members should look for a brochure in the mail by the end of the year. The brochure will also be posted on the QQA website,
