Contribution and Virtual Offering Plate
We are thankful to parishioners who pledge and are mailing their checks directly to the Transfiguration office, or have set up auto payment from your bank. It is very helpful that we continue income at this time as we seek to create connections to each other and maintain parish life. If you are not a pledger at Transfig, please do use our ‘virtual offering plate’ on the front page of our website to make a contribution to our work as you are able.

Happy Birthday
Brenda Hally on Monday, Patty Devlin on Tuesday.
Plan to Attend!
The Transfiguration Church Annual Meeting
(via zoom)
Sunday, February 7, following the 10:30 service
The Annual Meeting on Sunday February 7, following the 10:30 service, is a time to hear updates about parish life, finances, the construction project, rector search and more; and to elect our representatives to serve on the Vestry and the Deanery. We also thank our outgoing Vestry members and acknowledge various volunteers. We will be meeting virtually via zoom this year.

The Annual Report will be mailed to homes, along with the next issue of the Journey during the coming week. Hope to see you on zoom!
Rector Search Survey
The first part of our search process includes writing a parish profile, and in order to do that well, we need to get a sense of what the congregation believes are our current strengths and what vision we have for the future. We are very committed to listening to everyone who wants to share ideas and have been working hard to figure out the best way to do that despite pandemic restrictions. Please help us by filling out the following survey:

This is the first step in our listening process. We will be following up with opportunities for small group and individual conversations during coffee hours in February. Look for details and a schedule in upcoming announcements and Journey. Your thoughts matter to us!
Communion@Home
The Last Sunday after Epiphany
Dear Friends in Christ,

On the Last Sunday of Epiphany, February 14 we plan to offer another Communion@Home service.

Everyone agreed that the Christmas Eve Service was that much more special by sharing the gifts of the altar. We hope that you will be able to participate again. To assist in this, we welcome the return of the pyx (metal container) which will be sanitized for re-use. Please drop it off at your convenience by depositing it in the "dropbox" located in front of Memorial Garden entrance doors to the church.

IF YOU WISH TO PARTICIPATE, please sign up here. This will ensure that we have an appropriate quantity of communion@home containers prepared. Note: this is only available locally.

Communion will be available for pickup:
Friday, February 12, 11am to 1pm
OR
Saturday, February 13, 3-5pm

If you are not able to make either of these times or need us to deliver the Eucharist, please sign up here OR email the office or leave a voice message on the office phone: (650) 341-8206.

Finally, we will also have ashes available for pickup on those days for Ash Wednesday service. We will “ash” ourselves as part of the liturgy. More details to follow.

Blessings this Epiphany tide,
Bob+

Book Review:
“The way of love is essential for addressing the seemingly insurmountable challenges facing the world today: poverty, racism, selfishness, deep ideological divisions, competing claims to speak for God. This book will lead readers to discover the gifts they need in order to live the way of love: deep reservoirs of hope and resilience, simple wisdom, the discipline of nonviolence, and unshakable regard for human dignity.”

To purchase the book at Reach and Teach, a local independent bookstore in San Mateo.

Joyful Noise Storytellers Needed
Storytellers are needed to share the favorite stories of our faith for our Joyful Noise families. No storytelling experience is needed, just a desire to share a story with our families. The stories and scripts are provided for you. You can record your story ahead of time or tell your story live during the Joyful Noise service at 9:15am on Sundays. Storytelling is a great family activity—let your children tell the story with you. Please take a look at the calendar and add your name to tell your favorite story at Joyful Noise, Joyful Noise Storyteller Sign Ups. Contact Michele Maia, michele@transfig-sm.org with any questions or help with recording your story. Everyone is invited to join us on Sundays at 9:15 for Joyful Noise!
