Change in Mass Schedule St. Boniface, December 29
On Sunday, December 29, the 11:15 Mass will not be celebrated at St. Boniface. We are invited to celebrate Mass at St. James Cathedral at 11am for a special Mass inaugurating the 2025 Jubilee Year. The Holy Father has announced that 2025 will be a Jubilee Year, something which happens every 25 years. The theme for Jubilee 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope,” and it will be a year of hope for a world suffering the impacts of war, ongoing effects of COVID-19 pandemic, and climate crisis.

Blankets, Coats and Outerwear Collection
Thank You for the amazing response to help newly arrived migrants stay warm this winter. You generously donated blankets, coats, hats, gloves and scarves for the Catholic Charities pop-up shop at St. Mary Star of the Sea. Several car loads of clothing and blankets were collected the past two weekends. A few people made their own drop-offs adding to the donations. We are so grateful.
We also want to thank the collectors, drivers and deliverers, Pat and Joe Vitacco, the Oratory Women's Community, Kathy Weigel, Maureen Kelly Stewart, Michael Murphy, Beata Szpura, Aldervan Daly, Kathy Reynolds, Julie Fissinger, Marybeth Zeman, Kathy Lynch Gaffney, Fr. Mark Paul, Anne-Elizabeth and David Straub, Carole Fabrizio, and Fr. Anthony.

Advent Update from our Sister Parish
Fr. Edwin recently sent us a message containing Advent greetings and an update on parish activities:
St. Mark’s Lokitaung is fine and we thank God for your prayers. There have been many days of rain and animals have food. We are very happy to hear that you are thinking of coming to visit [in the summer of 2025]. We welcome you for as long as you will stay.
Some things happening at St Mark’s: we have started a Christian Men’s group and a Christian Women’s group, we are trying to start a choir, and have built a grotto. Some youth events are coming up and we have registered several infants for baptism near Christmas time. Budget constraints have limited our fuel project and our development of more outstations.
God bless you all as we continue to pray for each other. Happy and blessed Advent.

Turkana Christmas Cards, Thank You!
Thank you to the Oratory Community of both parishes for supporting this year’s sale of Christmas Cards made in Turkana and crafts made elsewhere in Kenya. We will be able to add approximately $500 to our next quarterly stipend for our Sister Parish. We anticipate that Fr. Edwin will use the additional funds to support various programs engaging youth and adults at St Mark’s parish. With gratitude for your generosity and support.

Pilgrimage Trip to Paris, October 11-18, 2025
It’s almost a year away, but not too soon to consider joining a pilgrimage to the City of Light.
Join Fr. Vincent Biagi, SJ, art historian Dr. Rob Meadows-Rogers, and Paris-phile Nadine Hundertmark as we visit some of Paris’ most beautiful churches and important spiritual sites. We're calling our pilgrimage "Five Saints in Paris: The Ultimate Tour Guides,” with visits to sacred places connected with St. Denis, St. Genevieve, St. Louis, St. Ignatius, and St. Margaret Mary Alocoque. Daily devotions will be inspired by the teachings of St. Ignatius. Along the way, we will provide theological, historical, and artistic orientation to the sites we visit.
As with the 2019 pilgrimage to Rome, participants will be responsible for their own travel and lodging. (We will offer suggestions.) We’ll arrange for two group dinners, a cruise on the Seine, and visits to the Louvre and the Musée Cluny. In addition to our daily itinerary of prayer, worship, and site visits, the schedule will allow some free time to visit other museums and Paris highlights, which we will help participants choose and arrange.
While we’re in the early planning stages with more details to follow, including costs, we need to see how many might be interested in this pilgrimage, note that we need to cap the number of participants at 20.
Contact Rob and Nadine at 5saintsinparis@gmail.com to indicate interest and ask any questions.
