YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

KINGS BRASS - On Thursday, June 27th at 7pm, come hear the exciting sounds of Tim Zimmerman and the King's Brass.  At 6:45pm our own Michael Gagne will give a brief Organ Recital to highlight some of the new exciting sounds of our new organ. This promises to be a fun-filled evening filled with excellent brass and organ music. Children of all ages are encouraged to attend. Admission is free and open to the community.

BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITIES
SUNDAY
CSI BIBLE STUDY - Meets Sundays at 9:20am in Luther Hall .
Sunday morning Bible study meets at 9:20am in Krueger Hall.  EVERY ONE HIS WITNESS , this workshop will continue THIS WEEKEND and run thru June 2. 
SUNDAY SCHOOL - Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings at 9:20am.  Please meet in the Sunday School Wing that is located in the lower level school classrooms.
ADULT DISCIPLESHIP CLASS - Sunday morning at 9:20am.
The Adult Discipleship Class is offered for those who desire to become members of the congregation and for those who would like to review the basics of Biblical Christian teaching from the Lutheran perspective. The next class will be in the Fall of 2019.
THE YOUTH CONFIRMATION MINISTRY
THE YOUTH CONFIRMATION MINISTRY will kick off new classes in August 2019. Pre-Confirmation Classes will be held Sunday Mornings beginning in September.
MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL BIBLE STUDY
This new Bible Study will meet every 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Sunday of each month from 9:20am-10:20am in the school gym. Final class is May 26, 2019. Classes will resume Fall of 2019.

LCC BIBLE STUDY WITH TIM HETZNER - “Who is Jesus According to Jesus” Bible Study is held on Monday's at 9:30am & 7:00pm in Luther Hall. Visit  www.LutheranChurchCharities.org  for more information. Classes run through June 2019.
TUESDAY
TUESDAY EVENING LADIES BIBLE STUDY - 
Tuesdays at 7:00pm in Luther Hall. The topic is: Our Hope & Our Future: A Study of Jeremiah . All women are invited to join us. 
THURSDAY
THURSDAY MORNING LADIES’  -  All women are invited to join our Ladies Bible Study which meets on Thursday mornings from 8:30-10:00 a.m. in Luther Hall. This study will continue into June with a new study beginning in July. For more information, contact Deb Kinne @   debkinne@yahoo.com
SATURDAY
MEN'S BIBLE STUDY -
 This week we cover Proverbs 18 & 19. Luther Hall at 9:00 a.m.
The Men's Bible Study will conclude for the Spring on May 18 . There will be various events – fishing, golfing, grilling, etc. – throughout the summer months so stay tuned to the Church & Men’s Ministry E-Blats and the St. Matthew Website for updates.
CURRENT WORKSHOP
The Gospel is simple, but the world is complex. How do we share the Good News of Jesus in today’s world? Here at St. Matthew, we want to help you be equipped, to be a more active and effective witness of Jesus by participating in Every One His Witness.
 
You will learn the LASSIE approach to witnessing in specific witnessing contexts.

Running now thru June 2 nd , We have classes scheduled on six consecutive Sundays in Krueger Hall during the Educational Hour. (9:20-10:20am).
ST. MATTHEW MINISTRY NEWS
CHRISTIAN OUTREACH OF LUTHERANS (COOL) -  A food pantry for some of the neediest families in Lake County. Please bring a can of food/box of cereal with you when you worship and place them in Luther Hall. Thanks for helping those in need. April food item: Juice or Powdered Milk
SHARING THE JOY Are you or somebody you know in need of meals? Sharing the Joy ministry of St. Matthew would like to help. Please contact the church office to set up meal deliveries.

JOURNEYS OF PAUL IN GREECE - October 5-15, 2019  
Pastor Timothy Kinne and his wife Debra, from St. Matthew Lutheran Church & School, Hawthorn Woods, invite you to join them on a magnificent tour of the Journeys of Paul in Greece, October 5-15, 2019.
2020 EUROPEAN TRIP & OBERAMMERGAU is an 11 Day Classic Classic European Tour (September 20-30, 2020) which will include Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Nurnberg, Rothenburg, Heidleberg, a Rhine River Cruise, the Neuschwanstein Castle and culminating in Oberammergau for the 2020 production of the Passion Play.

This week our Emerging Skills and Interests were: A Trip to the Pet Store. The number of the Week was "1", and our theme for Show & Share was sharing a favorite item. In Religious Studies, the preschoolers learned about Philip and the Ethiopian.
