Risen Master, as I think about Your appearance to the disciples and Your words of peace, I want Your peace in my life. You showed Your wounds to Thomas, and I too long to believe without seeing. Strengthen my faith, help me to recognize Your presence in my daily life, and forgive me of my faults and transgressions. Amen.

PRINCIPAL'S LETTER

“You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.” St. Augustine of Hippo

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow, students in Grades 1–8 will be bringing home their NWEA MAP Growth reports from the winter testing window. These reports provide an overview of your child’s academic achievement and growth in core subject areas. Please note that this is a snapshot of your child’s progress at this point in the year. If you have specific questions about your child's MAP data, we encourage you to reach out directly to your child's teacher.

School-wide Median Data

We are proud to share that Holy Family students continue to excel on the MAP assessments. The median percentile is a useful metric that helps us see how our students’ scores compare with students across the country. Our students' median percentiles were in the top 31% nationally across all tested subjects.

To interpret this: if our Science median percentile is 86, that means our students outperformed 86% of students nationally in their grade level.

Growth Data: Spring 2024-Spring 2025

In addition to achievement, MAP data also tracks student growth. Each child has an individual growth goal based on their previous scores. The growth percentile tells us how much progress students made compared to national norms.

It’s common for schools with high achievement scores to show average growth rates, as students are already performing at a strong level. At Holy Family, most of our students are demonstrating average to high average growth.

We are closely reviewing the math data, which currently shows the lowest growth percentile. Our faculty is actively discussing strategies to better support student learning in this area.

Professional Development to Support Student Growth

Earlier this spring, our teachers dedicated time during a professional development day to review the MAP data and collaborate on instructional strategies tailored to students’ needs. These discussions help us continue to improve classroom instruction and ensure each child is supported in their learning journey.

Mean Achievement Per Grade

In comparing our students’ average (mean) scores with those of peers across both the Diocese and the nation, our students continue to perform very well at each grade level.

School Supplies for the 2025-2026 School Year

Our school will be managing school supplies a little differently this year. Instead of us ordering the supplies in bulk and having them in the classroom on the first day of school, parents now have the option of purchasing the supplies through a vendor we have contracted with or on your own. The lists are attached for what is needed for each grade level.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a bulk item listed for Pre-Kindergarten. That item is not needed to be purchased by each family. Please do not purchase the bulk item.

Lectio Book Award Program Winners

The Lectio Book Award program wrapped up on March 27th and we celebrated our Lectio readers at Prayer Service on April 17th. Congratulations to all our readers who participated this year, whether you read 5 or all 20 books, it was an incredible achievement!

This year we honored four students who read all 100 books – 20 books per year from 4th – 8th grade – Hannah Blair, Isabella Muleiro, Victoria Vasquez and our first boy to complete this achievement, William Zongker! Hannah, Isabella, Victoria and William received a commemorative plaque at our awards ceremony for their amazing accomplishment and their names will live on at the library on our new Lectio Hall of Fame plaque. Thank you all for being such wonderful role models for all our students at Holy Family and inspiring a new generation of Lectio readers.

Angels 4 Life Baby Shower

Did you know that Angels 4 Life, Holy Family’s pro-life club, focuses on supporting mothers in need, as well as ending abortion by changing hearts and minds. We are hosting a baby shower for an expecting mother and would appreciate donations to help make the transition easier. Good items that would help include lots of diapers, onesies and socks, bottles, and baby food. Please deliver unwrapped items by May 12 to the front office. Be sure to label them, “Angels 4 Life.” Thank you in advance for your support!
