Dear NCBA Members:

Happy Monday! I hope everyone found a way to celebrate and pay homage to all the wonderful mothers out there this past weekend. Who would have thought we’d see snow in May?! This is an unusual year to be sure!

This past Saturday, we would have held our Annual Dinner Dance Gala, which has been rescheduled for the fall due to the pandemic. I missed being able to present Chris McGrath with his Distinguished Service Medallion and Hector Herrera with the President’s Award, but look forward to doing so later this year.

Today, President-Elect Dorian Glover is holding our NCBA Planning Conference to lay out the agenda for his term to begin next month. Dan Russo will be taking the minutes, as is tradition for the incoming Secretary. It is my hope that the high level of professional value that the NCBA has provided to all its members during the past year will continue. Among the presenters at the Planning Conference will be Marilyn Genoa and Jess Bunshaft, Co-Chairs of our Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee, to discuss NCBA Mediation Panels. I asked Marilyn for a special message to our members, set forth below.

Lastly, please remember that tomorrow is our NCBA Annual Meeting, at its traditional time of 7:00 PM. Again, that’s 7:00 PM. We will conduct the meeting by Zoom, through the link below. I’m hoping that the Hon. Marie G. Santagata (whose abundant generosity gave us the Frank J. & Marie G. Santagata Past Presidents Room in the ground floor at Domus) will stop by to say a few words. Please have a glass of your favorite beverage handy, as we will hold our traditional Toast to Domus. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night!

Mediation Panels Are Here to Help

NCBA’s panel of mediators/neutral facilitators are available to help your clients resolve the issues and disputes they will be forced to address as a result of COVID-19's impact on their personal and business lives.

Designed as a resource to the Bench, the Bar, and the community, NCBA’s mediators/neutral facilitators are experienced in the law, have extensive mediation training, and have all been screened by the Nassau County Bar Association Judiciary Committee. NCBA’s Mediation Panel members can help resolve matters for your clients quickly by working with all sides!

To find a mediator to help resolve matters, the ADR Panel Administrator, Patti Anderson, can be reached via email at: [email protected] , or by phone at (516) 747-4070 ext. 1208.
