It's the Final Countdown for the End of the School Year!

The Class of 2025 is finished with class and now awaits graduation this coming Friday (May 23)! This week, grades 9-11 have been taking their final exams. Check out the schedule below, along with the "Checkouts" schedule. Summer is coming!

Important Reminders for the Class of 2025!

Seniors are reminded to return their textbooks and Chromebooks (with chargers!), and complete the senior survey.


Don't forget these MANDATORY Senior Events:

  1. Graduation rehearsal is Wednesday, May 21, at 1:30 pm at the North Charleston PAC.
  2. The Senior Awards Ceremony is Wednesday evening at 5 pm where they'll pick up their graduation "swag" 
  3. Graduation is Friday at 3 pm (arrive by 2 pm) at the North Charleston PAC

Newest Raptors invited to Sign Up for Summer Scholars!


The AMHS Class of 2028 is taking shape! Registration is now open for Summer Scholars for ALL new students from July 28-July 30! It's a fun few days that will provide an opportunity to meet other students and learn more about the year ahead! Click the image to sign up.

Athletes are free but need to RSVP by May 22! Families and guests may purchase tickets by May 22. Each guest needs an individual ticket, and family tickets are for sale. Kids 3 and under are free. Tickets are $20 per person. We look forward to celebrating our Raptor athletes for the 2024-2025 year!

Mandated by the state, a School Improvement Council (SIC) serves as a vehicle for teachers, students, parents, administrators, and community representatives to collaborate and help schools across South Carolina reach the goals identified in their five-year school improvement plans (SIPs). The SIC Report for 2024-2025 is now available and has been posted on the AMHS website. Read it at this link.

Vote by FRIDAY for the 2025-26 PIE Officer Slate

The proposed slate of officers is now available from the Nominating Committee. Each member of PIE may cast one vote. No response will be counted as a "YES."

Read Important Information About End-of-Course exams

The statewide End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP) assessment will occur May 1-7 and May 19-22 for students enrolled in Algebra 1, Biology 1, English 2, and/or United States History and the Constitution. The EOCEP encourages instruction in the specific standards for the courses, inspires student achievement, and documents the level of students’ mastery of the academic standards.

AMHS Sports Makes a Mark in the SCHSL!

Track & Field Top Finishers at the SCHSL AA Championship

 

Women's - 7th place overall

  • 4x800m: Abby Trolley, Natalie Cina, Mia Dewey, Evie Hassid, silver medalists
  • 1600m: Rhythm Harris, 4th place
  • 400m hurdles: Priya Cardella, 5th place
  • 800m: Rhythm Harris, 6th place
  • 4x400m: Ashlyn Cromwell, Priya Cardella, Natalie Cina, Mia Dewey, 5th place
  • Triple jump: Makenzie Wilbourn, gold medalist


Men's - 4th place overall

  • 4x800m: Brayden Bunt, Everett Landrith, Hunter Kuhnell, C.J. Geiger, silver medalists
  • Javelin: Peyton Johnson, 8th place
  • 1600m: Calvin Volkmann, 4th place & Quinn Swanton, gold medalist (new AMHS record of 4:16.78!)

Soccer Teams Head to State Championships on Thursday!

Men's Varsity Soccer defeated Philip Simmons 2-0 on Friday night to claim the SCHSL AA Lower State Championship. The men's team will play Andrew Jackson in the SCHSL AA Championships this Thursday evening (est. 6:00/6:30 pm).


Women's Varsity Soccer followed suit and defeated Philip Simmons 4-0 on Saturday morning to also claim the SCHSL AA Lower-State Championship. The women's team will play Dixie in the SCHSL AA Championships this Thursday afternoon (est. 4:00 pm).

The Inspirit AI summer program empowers young students to collaborate on AI projects with Ivy League mentors to tackle pressing real-world challenges from disease diagnosis, to exoplanet research, and supporting disaster-management. Please apply here for summer 2025!

The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund provides up to $10,000 per year in college scholarships for high-achieving South Carolina students with a demonstrated financial need (who will be attending an eligible South Carolina college/university).

Community Service + Activities

Community Service hours were due on May 1! Stay tuned to this area next year for more opportunities to volunteer in the community. Feel free to share any opportunities that are open to students!

The Raptor Report is published weekly by AMHS PIE on Wednesdays during the school year except for holiday breaks.



Faculty, students, and parents are encouraged to submit articles and/or pictures of AMHS events, honors, and needs.
