Loving Lord, I aim to keep Your commandments and show my love for You. Show Yourself to me in my daily activities and fill my heart with Your loving peace. Pour Your Holy Spirit upon me, so I may have communion with You and the Father always. Amen.

PRINCIPAL'S LETTER

“The world promises you comfort, but you were not made for comfort. You were made for greatness” Pope Benedict XVI

Dear Parents,

On Tuesday night, we gathered in a joyful celebration with our 8th grade students as they concluded their time at Holy Family and prepared to begin their next chapter: high school. It was a beautiful evening, filled with prayer, reflection, and the love of our community. Fr. Tom celebrated the Mass, joined by Fr. Lijo and Fr. Higdon, as many members of the Holy Family community came together to send our graduates off with blessings and best wishes.

While the evening was a highlight, one of the most meaningful parts of the day came earlier. Before the Mass, Mrs. Morley, Sister Rene Noel, and I guided the students through their final practice. There’s something uniquely special about spending those last few quiet hours with the 8th grade class as students. The anticipation of what lies ahead is palpable, yet in the stillness of the dimly lit church, we rehearsed for a moment that had not yet arrived.

To me, those moments of preparation are sacred. It’s the final time we get to guide them, not just in logistics, like reminding them to bow, but in spirit, as we offer the assurance of our continued prayers. These small, quiet exchanges often become my most cherished memories in ministry.

The Baccalaureate Mass is certainly a momentous time, but I hold close the quieter moments when I can tell our 8th graders that they will always remain in my prayers. Each year, the list of former students grows, and each name is a reminder of the joy and responsibility of walking with them, even briefly, on their faith journey.

To the Class of 2025: you are in my prayers. May you always remember that you are a beloved child of God, and that your Holy Family community walks with you in love and faith.

God Bless,

Erin Vu

EIM COMPLIANCE INFORMATION

The mission of the Diocese of Austin’s Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) program is to help protect people from abuse and unethical behavior through education, action, and reporting, and to listen to and learn from those who have experienced abuse in order to provide healing. EIM compliance is required for persons active in most ministries in the diocese. Looking for resources and information about safeguarding children and other vulnerable people? Do you want to volunteer and are new to the EIM process? Are you returning to ministry and already have an EIM account? Visit austindiocese.org/eim to learn more about EIM policies and procedures and how they help keep our parishes and schools safer for everyone.

Please contact Danna Kelemen, Holy Family EIM Site Administrator, for additional assistance. Please note that when your compliance is 60 days away from its expiration, you will receive an email from system@virtus.org prompting you to login and complete the required action per the email.

Report abuse of a minor, elderly adult, or an adult with a disability to local law enforcement or the Texas Abuse Hotline at www.txabusehotline.org or (800) 252-5400 and the diocese at www.austindiocese.org/report-abuse or (512) 949-2447.

HAVE YOU, OR HAS SOMEONE YOU KNOW, EXPERIENCED ABUSE?

The Diocese of Austin is committed to providing compassionate care to persons who have experienced abuse, particularly if committed by clergy or a church representative. If you or someone you know have experienced such abuse, contact the diocesan Coordinator of Victim Assistance and Pastoral Support at EIM-VAC@austindiocese.org.
