Maximizing the academic, social, and emotional potential of each student.

Dear Friend of CCSD93,
Heritage Lakes Earns Water Quality Flag!
Today, Heritage Lakes was awarded a Water Quality Flag from DuPage County! To earn the flag, students and staff members learned about methods to prevent water pollution, participated in a school-wide assembly, performed hands-on activities including picking up waste around the school, and painted a rain barrel!

Congratulations to Heritage Lakes students and staff members for earning this honor, and thanks to SCARCE Eco Education for providing guidance along the way! This type of commitment to sustainability helps CCSD93 achieve Strategic Goal 4 of our 2018-23 Strategic Plan: Optimal Learning Environments.
Carol Stream Mayor Frank Saverino, DuPage County Stormwater Commissioner Jim Zay, and SCARCE Founder Kay McKeen were on hand to help Heritage Lakes celebrate the achievement!
Register for CCSD93's 2019-20 School Year Online Starting Next Week
Next week, all parents of returning CCSD93 students will receive an email, text, and phone call asking them to register their children for the 2019-20 school year online. It'll be the similar to last year's process, and it should take most parents just a matter of minutes to register each child for next year. Please keep an eye out for these communications next week!
Thank You for Donating to
Community-Wide Food Drive
Thank you to everyone who was able to contribute to the Community-Wide Food Drive! Because of your efforts, we were able to contribute two truckloads of food and goods to the Drive. Literally tons of food will be donated to a number of local food pantries that serve our communities!
Band & Orchestra News & Notes
CCSD93's Band and Orchestra programs have had some terrific concerts recently and will host a number of events and opportunities in the next few weeks!

CCSD93's Orchestra Plays Glenbard North
On April 23, 4th through 8th grade Orchestra students from Stratford and its feeder elementary schools played in Glenbard North's Auditorium, while Orchestra students from Jay Stream and its feeders played there on April 24. It was a terrific opportunity for all of the program's students to show off the skills they've been working so hard on this year from the bright lights of a more professional stage. Here are some elementary students showing off what they've learned!

5th Grade Band Plays at Stratford
On Tuesday of this week, the 5th Grade Beginning Band held their spring concert at Stratford Middle School! This was their second and final concert of the year and included over 160 students. The group played the theme from Star Wars. Congratulations to all the performers!

Middle School Bands Play for 4th Graders
On Thursday of this week, Jay Stream Band members performed for 4th grade students from from Carol Stream, Heritage Lakes, and Western Trails. On Wednesday, Stratford Band members performed for Cloverdale, Elsie Johnson, and Roy DeShane 4th grade students.
It helped give the younger students an idea of what being in Band and having a dedication to their craft could lead to!

It gives community members, including volunteer school and district staff members, an opportunity to work together on landscaping and other projects at all CCSD93 buildings. If you see them working at one of our schools, know they're volunteering their own time to help make our spaces even brighter for the community! If you're available, they'd love for you to participate. You can sign up by visiting this webpage and then selecting the individual school site where you'd like to volunteer!
