Raptors of Distinction

Congratulations to our AMHS History Bowl Team and Coach Carl Garris on their hard-fought battle at the National Competition in Washington DC this past weekend. Our Raptors won the preliminary games on Saturday morning to compete in the upper bracket Saturday afternoon, but did not make the finals amidst very impressive competition. Mr. Garris and his team took time to take in the sites and visit most of the memorials on the National Mall, the National Gallery, the Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Asian Art, the Museum of American History, and the Museum of African Art. In Mr. Garris's words, "It was a thoroughly edifying and intellectually stimulating experience for the group; they brought their knowledge to bear, and it was like being on a tour where all of the members were tour guides!"
