CFDRR Awards Eleventh Coronavirus Relief Fund Grant to
Olde Dominion Agricultural Foundation
This week, CFDRR awarded Olde Dominion Agricultural Foundation (ODAF) a $17,000 grant to address food insecurity in Pittsylvania County due to COVID-19's impact on the local economy. This effort is particularly focused on the month of July, when the county schools take a break from serving lunches. In partnership with a group of volunteers representing the business community, local farmers, non-profits, and government entities, ODAF is planning to serve 750 families. CFDRR Grant Helps Southside Soccer Club Improve Field
Funded by a grant from The Community Foundation, Southside Soccer Club in Blairs, VA, completed improvements to its main soccer field June 30, focused on field drainage. After years of constant use, drainage areas had filled in, which left heavy spring rains unable to drain properly. This meant practices and competitive play were suspended due to standing water, impacting players ages 12-18, an adult summer league and other community use. Crews Construction & Asphalt Paving Co. performed the work. Read the full story here.
