Adopt a Tree

In April, Subarashii invites you to be the first to participate in a wonderful offering from our orchard: Adopt-a-tree.

Throughout 2015, you can experience firsthand the growth of your adopted Asian Pear tree.  Photos and information about your tree's progress will be sent to you throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall months.

In the Fall, imagine your enjoyment of fresh Asians Pears direct from your tree. Fruit will be personally harvested for you by our Subarashii Kudamono orchard team. Fresh Asian Pears will be shipped to you in three installments between September and November.

Subarashii Wine Winners

4 metals were awarded last week to Subarashii Kudamono at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.  This is one of the few international competitions in the US and Subarashii competed against 3708 wines from 27 from countries including all 50 States.

Subarashii received Silver Medals for its fortified Asian Pear Dessert Wine and its brand-new Asian Pear Sparkling Wine Methode Traditionelle.  The latter news is particularly exciting as the bubbly is the newest from the Subarashii portfolio.  Bronze metals were awarded to both Subarashii's Asian Pear Wine and its Eau de Vie (brandy).

The 5th Medal, a Bronze, was awarded to Subarashii Kudamono's Asian Pear Eau de Vie (brandy) at the recent Berlin International Spirits Competition in Germany. Subarashii Kudamono also received "Eau de Vie of the Year" as it competed against 200 spirits from 6 countries.

Asian Pear Pruning for Spring

The moment the ice and snow melted,  the orchard crew has been racing down the homestretch to finish pruning our trees before warmer Spring weather arrives.

Even though it is easier to move through the rows of trees; the work is just as detail-oriented and hard.   Lopping-off branches and clipping small limbs, it's been a long, cold hard road for the team; but the trees look fantastic, healthy and are now ready to bloom.
