5 Million Meals Celebration!



Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines proclaimed Tuesday, July 16, 2024, as Samaritan Ministries’ Five Millionth Meal Day! Since opening our doors in 1981, we have never closed them. Lunch has been served through hurricanes, snow, extreme heat, holidays, and the global pandemic. That is over 15,844 consecutive days.

For many of our guests, this is the only meal they will have each day. Thank you to the many supporters, volunteers, and community partners who make caring for our guests every single day possible.

Join us in celebrating this milestone of 5 Million meals and smiles served as we reflect on God’s goodness and provision over the years. The need is still great, and with your help, we will continue to provide food, shelter, and hope through Christian love to our community. We invite YOU to be part of the next 5 million meals.

2024 Tour de Llama

On Saturday, June 22, we hosted our 10th Tour de Llama ride to provide food, shelter, and hope! Hunger and homelessness do not take a summer vacation and this event helps us provide nutritious meals, safe, cool shelter, and hope for tomorrow. Located at Divine Llama Vineyards, 260 cyclists enjoyed the beautiful countryside of Yadkin County with 21, 38, and 60-mile routes supported by Ken’s Bike Shop. After the ride, our volunteers, cyclists, guests, and staff enjoyed llamas, food trucks, and fun!
