Greetings!
5 Tool Baseball Academy is starting a year round LTAD (long
term athletic development) program. Our philosophy is different and
simple, but based on the opinions of many leading experts in the
field of junior development.
Baseball instruction needs to
develop fundamental movement skills, establish functional movement
patterns, develop sports specific skills, teach baseball specific
skills and most importantly create a love for the
game.
We turn your child into an amazing athlete. Then we turn your child
into an amazing baseball/softball players. The LTAD approach
focuses on having kids perform age-appropriate skill acquisition
drills to maximize athletic potential. LTAD progressively gets more
complicated and more specialized as the athlete develops and
reaches the next level of development.
The 5 Tool LTAD is a year round program, we are beginning
phase 1 on the week of August 30th.
"Lil Sluggers" is for boys and girls ages 6 to 9 years old,
meeting once per week on Mondays from 4:30 PM through 6:00 PM Click here for additional
information.
"5 Tool Bombers" 10 to 13 year olds will meet Wednesday,
Fridays from 4:30 PM through 6:00 PM and Sundays from 9:00 AM
through 10:30 AM (Sunday class is scheduled in September and

information
The program is limited to 12
juniors per session. 5 Tool Bombers can attend any or all of the
three weekly sessions, it's all based on available spots. We
encourage juniors to attend 1 session per week.

skill evaluation, with Coach Lou prior to their

participate in this program.

It was inevitable, this shift. In the last
decade, junior sports have been trending toward specialization,
where young athletes are pushed into one sport and one sport only
in an effort to capture the ever elusive college
scholarship.
The push back was going to come eventually,
and Illinois PGA golf instructor Lou Solarte is at the forefront.
The Aurora resident has long been at the leading edge of golf
instruction, and now he's come up with some junior programs at
Hilton Indian Lakes Resort in Bloomingdale and his 5 Tool Baseball
Academy in Naperville to help counteract the effects of
specialization. Read
